Not the air quotes around "Mustang"
The wording is just to jack people into thinking it is a Supercar... Lame |

I understand the emotion attached to the Mustang, but from a side by side view you would think a Mondeo bodyshell would have an aero advantage.

The Mustang's roofline is significantly lower than a Mondeo, some 120mm, which would be a significant advantage, Both cars have quite gentle C-pillar angles which should maintain attached flow from the roof down to the bootlid (i.e. and therefore a smaller wake behind the car and thus less drag, as seen below) and therefore be suitably slippery in a straight line... Given that, the lower frontal area of the Mustang (due to lower roofline) should be in the Mustang's favour. PS. If you're interested, the VW Golf (while functional) is an example of bad aero as the upright C-pillar causes a huge wake and therefore lots of drag, whereas the Honda Insight Toyota Prius is an example of good aero as the shallow c-pillar angle and Kammback design minimises drag. Easy to see why so many of them are dabbling in GT3.
Sure, that may not last either, but it could well open doors in Europe. |

Wen I saw the green I wasn't thinking of Gottzingers. They make some good stuff though, thats one sponsor I'd be happy to support.

Jim Clark blew the green car myth out of the window when he won the Indy 500 in a British Racing Green Lotus.

I don't believe it myself but it did gain some traction over time in the USA. |

Roger Penske is one person who in the past didn't want any green on his cars, Donald Davidson (IMS Historian) has told the story of 1988 when Miller Brewing sponsored Danny Sullivan's Penske Indycar and wanted a thin green stripe as part of the livery, Roger fought hard against it but ultimately lost the battle and the car got a green stripe
