I've not seen the A1GP cars in action so I can't do a direct comparison, certainly sound similar to some of the EuroBOSS cars but with a more vicious bite and a definite 'crack' on gear changes (at least they used to, can't say what the more recent cars sound like).

The 05 mecs sound awesome, just like f1's, much better than the audis or opels.
Has anybody heard anything about mercedes testing in Estoril this past week? |

World Series by Renault driver Jaap van Lagen has tested a Mercedes of Mucke Motorsport at Estoril.

The Audi R10 Le Mans car will be launched on December 13th, but no news on any DTM anouncement.
Would Mercedes ever consider running the DTM as a single make series, ala the Carrera Cup? Its cheaper than Mercedes entering another series, then setting up a new DTM series in 4-5 years time! |

Hm. I just read an interview with Mattias Ekstrom where he says that he apparently has yet to sign a contract with Audi for 2006. There have been some talks, but Audi hasn't offered an actual contract for Ekstrom to sign as of yet.
The interview was published in a Swedish newspaper today, so I reckon it's quite fresh. |

I think Audi's days in the DTM are numbered.

My lucky guess is that Mathias Ekstrom will participate in WRC with a private Red Bull sponsored Skoda Fabia.

If Audi is considering to leave the DTM, would MB still be scheduling tests for various drivers like Franchitti, etc... Or would MB really back a one make series if Audi leaves? Or is MB just keeping their options/drivers open by continually testing and operating like the '06 DTM is a sure thing?

The registration deadline for DTM 2006 officially was yesterday. Because only Mercedes had registered, the deadline was extended to december 15 on demand of Audi. Remember that Audi will present the R10 LMP1 car in Paris december 13.
