Something must have changed then in their entries because the list on the site has 7, 8 and 9 for Aston Martin, 7 being the V12 with Bez and Poritt, and 9 being a V8 with Kolb, Ingram and Chiles. 8 is on there as a V8 but with Poritt again. Perhaps that entry will be like last year's white Vantage, a customer car.
Or maybe it'll be ditched! |

those photos of the audis are from this weekend at the 51st ADAC ACAS H&R-Cup (VLN race) where the Audis took on the Porsches.
The winner did 27 laps in 4 hours as they ran on the Nordschleife. VLN races Manthey won with Tiemann and Lieb ahead of 2 Audis, .981 (Basseng, Fassler, Rockenfeller and Stippler) and 3.835 (Abt, Hemroulle, Kaffer and Luhr) behind. The Pirro/Biela/Stuck car retired after 6 laps. There's no review yet so no idea why. An Opel Vectra V8 with Volker Strycek finished 4th, a 2nd Manthey Porsche with Henzler finished 5th. Funny enough, Strycek is also listed in a Corvette that finished 15th! The V12 Vantage was there but quit after 11 laps. |

The Opel is an Astra, ex-DTM car.
Manthey won because Audi made a rare mistake and miscalculated the race time. They failed to take into account that the race had started at 11:59:38 instead of 12:00:00 and therefore assumed the leading R8 would cross the line before the checkered flag and would have to do another lap. It didn't have enough fuel for that, so they called it into the pits where it crossed the line less than a second after the Manthey car did on the track. |

Manthey was on pole, lead most of the race and made his "splash and dash" before the Audi had to.

Both have the same number, funny. Audi better not make the same mistake a few weeks from now! That Ford GT I think is the Matech car that Raeder will use because they lost their Lamborghini so that could add some spice to the race, although 4 hours aren't quite 24. |

New entry list is up: Entry List - 30.04.2009
Some more names can be found. Manthey and Audi remain unchanged. - Frank Schmickler and Kurt Thiim are in the 17 Betaplast BMW E46. - Uwe Alzen has a second Porsche along with the Hankook won. This one is #18 with Sascha Bert - The 2 Alpina BMWs have 2 drivers each: 25 Marcel Engels and Andy Bovensiepen / 26 Johannes Stuck and Andreas Wirth - The 40 Raeder Ford GT is confirmed. I thought Hennerici and Mutsch would be in there but there's still only Adorf and Tilke - Augusto Farfus and Dirk Muller join Claudia Hurtgen and Sorlie in the 77 BMW z4 M Coupe - Muhlner Porsche #123 has last year's 6th place finisher Kainz, as well as Schmickler, Bermes and Mark Thomas - Muhlner second car #124 has Schornstein and Ulf Karlsson |

Nurburgring 24 hours
Please check: www.team-schrick.com
There is a intresting projekt with a Aston Martin Vantage V8 going on. The jung team owner Tim Schrick made his dream come true to race in the 24h Nürburgring with car # 66. A bought a normal second hand AM Vantage from a dealer for 90.000 Euro an changed it into a race car. The engine is changed into a 3,0 ltr. V8 ( 380 PS - 8800 rpm ) instead of the 4,3 ltr. to be more free changing parts due to the regulations to start in SP5 class. I will be there on Wehrseifen ( Km 9 ) and keep fingers cross. I hope the car is as loud as the amaising Lexus factory car with the V10. Greatings from Germany ( Kerpen - Home of Michael Schumacher ) |

Now it is back to normal but the cart circuit from Michael here in Kerpen is still bocked out all the time from people coming from Italy, Netherlands, Germany etc.
When I said home of Michael I ment here is his Birthplace and he comes here very often and then go with his friends to cologne nightlife. Is anybody of you guys coming to the race on May, 23. And what do you think of this Aston projekt ? |

And he's got a former DTM Mercedes works driver for Zakspeed in Jorg van Ommen in the car. Not too bad for Schlick.
An update to the entry list has been posted. Dirk Werner has joined the Manthey no. 2 Porsche. Henerici and Mutsch have appeared in the Ford GT. |

There's nothing on Schrick's site saying that van Ommen's team is supporting but he does clearly point out that they're counting on his experience in this effort.
Seems that Uwe Alzen won't be in the Hankook Porsche run by his brother Jurgen this year and will be in the new #18 entry entered by his own team with Sascha Bert and additional drivers to be named. Car looks quite nice in black! http://www.mundomotorizado.com/foros...e.php?id=24965 http://www.uwealzen.de/index.php |

He could very well do both. Dirk Adorf drove the Land Porsche and the Raeder Lambo in the same race a couple of years ago. The entry list has Uwe in both cars at the moment.

Could be. I didn't actually see any place saying he dropped his spot in his brother's team.
Maybe he's in there in case his own entry goes out, he'll be able to continue in the race? If his team gets 2 more drivers, I would think it's possible he could drive in both no matter what happens, but it must be quite tiresome to drive both if his car 'only' has 3 drivers. Time will tell! BTW, does anyone know when the cut-off date for driver line-ups is? First training sessions are on the 21st. |

Has Radio Le Mans for this years edition been confirmed? I don't think they said anything about the Ring during the Spa coverage today...
Last year was so much fun, the German coverage is crap compared to Hindy and crew |

The Land Motorsport Porsche has been withdrawn, Toto Wolff is not getting medical permission to race after his shunt some weeks ago.
The car has been successfully rebuilt but Wolff (being the funder of this years effort) is not fit to race. A big shame, the first 24h race without Land Motorsport since 2003. |
