In an ideal world they would, but i cant see drivers wanting, or being able to afford 14 events per year. U never know your Prize money and share of the profits(!) from the RSS might pay for ur entry into the MSA rallycross championship

Why didn't everyone get together and try to make the championship we have know a better one, rather than trying a spin-off |

I am all for superseries competing against BRDA. The organisation with the best package will ultimately win, just like every business in the world. If i was to offer you the same job with more money and better conditions then i expect you would take it - that how the world works. Why should one organisation have a monopoly and dictate rules and costs. I am not knocking the BRDA but if someone has a better package let them in. If on the otherhand the BRDA can provide a better package then i will support them, but they had better sort something out quick.

Its sounds a good series if it works and I know V-Tec Motorsport would support it

"In addition there will be a ' car production date' set for the Super Modified cars, racing in the Super National category, which will be announced soon."
Read this on RSS Site wondering how they will decided what cars to exclude. IE Production start date or end date? |

@RM
Most probably Production End date. But then again as there is variations of end dates for certain models im not sure how its done... so we will all have to wait till the launch |

Just looked at the RSS site and noticd that Shell will be giving products away to the leaders of the series at 1/2 way stage - surely that makes it a championship.
Its obvious that the RSS wants to run the premier british championship, proberbly year after next, and its a clever way 'in' by saying its only a series. Lets hope it works. |

@winnie
That dosnt make it a championship, best example is the Carlow Rallysprints that are run over here, normaly they follow eachother one after another and there are prizes each day (woot go me 2nd in class :P ) but it is not a championship. agreed it is a good way to get themselfs a good result for the contract test if they wanted it... |

A championship needs MSA approval; a "series" doesn't. I would guess that the MSA won't be too impressed if cumulative points for the "series" are published!

2005 Rallycross Super Series
(I'll do it without the website address shall I!?) I noticed it has all gone quiet on the new 2005 Rallycross Super Series front. I also noticed on their website that their official launch takes place at the Croft Circuit on Saturday 6th November (a weeks time!!) on G/P weekend, superb!!. Does any one know who can attend?? Hopefully we will hear more about their series, dates, circuits, sponsors, regs etc.This series aims to take Rallycross to the top in terms of Motorsport in this country. Surely this has to be good for the sport and all those involved in it.Just what Rallycross needs a premier series with top class media and tv coverage. Especially from Motors TV who will no doubt produce better tv coverage than we currently have. I had an e mail from one of the organisers recently apparently a lot of info about the series and launch will go on their webiste over this weekend. Also heard a strong rumour recently that 2 of the current classes involved with the BRDA will be taking their cars away from the sport in 2005. This true?? Where will this leave the BRDA with all legal Supercars and Supernational cars going to the RSS, with another class to join soon and the possiblility of 2 more classes going elsewhere also!?? Any thought anyone!? |

According to the website and organisers the 2005 Rallycross Super Series will have classes for the 3 European Divisions:
Division 1, Division 1A and Division 2 It will also have a 4th class called Super National which will cater for all the current Super Modified/Modified cars and Super National cars from across europe. There will also be another class added to these which will be announced at the launch next week. |

Has the calendar been confirmed yet or was it just an official launch of the series regarding the regs?

As i said earlier i went to the launch but we can't find the info i picked up . The dates are not to clash with british or euro rounds. As the RSS has comfirmed their dates early, to my way of thinking this may cause the BRDA some problems ,may well have to fit in around the RSS. This could be one up to RSS already ? The thing looks good to me , i can remember that the series starts at Croft then knockhill , Pembrey , Mondello not sure of order.Also 2 wheel superprix at Blyton ,lastly GP at Croft.
