Really pleased for Ben. He did a good job all weekend and had that bike set up perfect. At the start he made an awesome block pass on Hayes to take the lead. On lap 2 he ran it into the gravel at the corkscrew and dropped to third. After that he ran down Hayes and put a great pass on him into Turn 5. Good stuff! Several members of the Moto GP paddock were there to give him a pat on the back, including Ben Spies.
Funny that he couldn't get a win when he was on the factory team, but did it on the satelite bike. |

Well, a few races have passed since Laguna. Tommy Hayden and Josh Hayes split wins at VIR while Hayes did the double at New Jersey. Hayes has 7 victories this season to Hayden's 4. Going in to this weekends final round at Barber Hayes has 22 points over Hayden. Can't see it going Hayden's way unless Hayes has trouble.

Race 2 was wet.
Hayes deserved it and rode better than Hayden. Tommy should have taken a few more chances this year. He always looked to be riding a bit too consistent/conservative, if that makes any sense. Martin Cardenas took the sportbike title. |

Cardenas has been awesome in Sportsbike on the Suzuki 600 - he should have another crack in Europe again. He was ordinary over there in the past...

He wasnt ordinary when he was thrashing Chaz Davies on a similar bike in about 2004!
Very good rider and should never have wasted his time in AMA, Moto2 level at least |

Yates got injured early, as did Hopper who came back late in the season with decent results...
