It's presumed it's for barrier repair after the LMP3 practice, but haven't seen confirmation of that.

Was there ever an arrangement where the GTE cars got kicked of the track 30 mins before end of session? Whereas LMPs couldn't go out in the first 30 minutes? So that each category could have clean qualy laps?

Not recently at Le Mans. That's how WEC qualifying works though.

I don't see why 3:16 or 3:15 would be impossible given test day. I'd say a 14 is possible if it all lines up.

What boggles me is that for the biggest race in the world the authorities can't make an exception once a year when something like this comes up and keep the damn roads closed for a bit longer.

LMP1s hitting traffic all the time. I don't see fast laps happening at the moment(I mean record ones below 3.16.8). It would be really ideal to have it like on every other WEC round and separate the qualifyings for the GTs and LMPs
