Never thought it was going to be Dallara for 2 reasons: 1: Dallara is allready producing a lot of vehicles for a lot of series, and adding about 50 more chassis may be even more than they can handle; and 2: The European comittee for fair trade and competition may not allow Dallara to gain such a dominant position. |

I have never heard of the ATR group, what series do they manufacture cars for currently?
Bruni and Melo did not set the world alight. I wonder how the quality of feedback they will provide will be... I wonder what the timeline is like, the eight months or so until next season will start does not leave much room for modifications and manufacture of 26+ cars if initial tests throw up any problems. I presume Ferrari know what they are doing. |

Previosly they made Minardi F1 monocoques, Maserati MC12 GT1-cars and much more. They also build the SLC F3-car (SLC was a micro car make of ATR group). Check their page for previous customer projects: http://www.atrgroup.it/eng/clienti.htm |

Well, the announcement was made late because up to the second week of October, there still was that Asian race that was announced but didn't happen. Rest assured that Ferrari has been working on the car since about April or May last year.
Ideally, the design should be finished and the testing should have begun. I expect the unveiling at Brands Hatch, and by August, 26 cars should be ready. Now the other big question is: Is Cooper going to stay as tyre supplier ? Or is someone else stepping in.. (Michelin and Pirelli are rumoured). |
