Well Aston has no money so it's not going to be them, unless someone appears and wants to fund it but doubtful. AMR is probably done soon and someone is buying Aston Martin at pennies on the dollar.

We know that Aston Martin proper is primarily owned by Investment Dar and to a lesser extent Daimler and whatever stock is floated publicly.
I'm guessing it depends on if the current owners want to send good money after bad, or they just want to unload AM to someone else. I wouldn't be surprised if Daimler might buy AM/AMR, but for two issues: Daimler's own issues with Dieselgate, and the fact that their AMG division makes cars that compete with Aston's line up to a degree. That being said, Daimler and AMG have been swelling their coffers by selling engines to Aston Martin. |

Current speculation as of this date: So it seems that in the pro categories, DPI might lose CORE and Juncos, but gain a yet to be named Mazda privateer entry. Kill the JDC leaving rumor. They will continue. No indication that GTLM will be beyond the Chevrolet, Porsche, and BMW teams still. For full season at least.

Core being done with DPI is a done deal due to Bennett retiring at the end of the season.

After seeing V.I.R and the last few races. I think the R.L.L. team just does not have anymore. They can't even compete with Ford and Corvette at this stage, let alone Porsche.
I think the Ganassi team should hook up with BMW for 2020. |

I think the platform is more to blame than anything else. The GTE competitors have gotten way more advanced but BMW has stayed with a large vehicle.

I wouldn't read anything in to the ex-Ford drivers running, they were affiliated with Multimatic through the GT build. Ganassi, like Penske, only plays with others money so unless someone shows up to fully sponsor a privateer entry I don't think we'd see him with a factory team.

I'm sure they will find the money but:
While the 2020 program for Whelen Engineering Racing’s Cadillac DPi-V.R was announced earlier this week, Sportscar365 understands that Action Express Racing’s second Cadillac is still yet-to-be-confirmed, with the team yet to secure a full sponsorship package for the season. |

Although Doonan wouldn’t be drawn on the names of the callers, his confidence has risen on seeing at least one new Mazda competing with the factory Nos. 55 and 77 RT24-Ps come January at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. “I’d say two of them are real possibilities,” he added. “Around the Petit Le Mans timing in October, we’d love to be able to confirm that we’ve got more Mazdas on the grid in 2020.” |

The team rumor that lives as long as Ferrari to LMP1 rumors, Spirit of Daytona back with a Mazda? Consider me doubtful but stranger things have happened.

GTD back at Long Beach for 2020, but only for GTD Sprint Cup only points. Guessing so some teams can lay back and not have to travel across the country twice if they don't have the factory backing to fund it

A few other things from S365 this evening **Rick Ware Racing has reportedly purchased the ex-BAR1 Riley Mk. 30 LMP2 car for a planned WeatherTech Championship program for next year. The North Carolina-based team is set to make its prototype debut in the 2019-20 Asian Le Mans Series with a pair of Ligier JS P2 Nissans run by Eurointernational. Well we all thought there was no chance of them on the grid and now buying a Riley, really a flipping Riley? Well no need to worry about LMP2 field entry ***Corvette Racing is set to unveil its mid-engined C8.R at Motul Petit Le Mans. Sportscar365 understands the car is set to run a normally aspirated flat-crank engine, despite the initial belief of a move to a turbocharged powerplant. Well I guess that will settle SOME of the change to mid engine model. |

Or did that rule stop when DPi and LMP2 were split off? I seem to remember that was the reason BAR1 bought a Riley and not one of the other chassis. Next, we all now Multimatic has done a lot of work on the car. The interesting question here (if above rule apllies) is: was that work on engine-related parts or chassis-related stuff? |

And is Ware racing aware and can actually do the buildup needed if they get the parts? Not that I doubt them but stories from Nascar circles make them sound less than competent at times.

I'm not 100% sure that what I posted above is how it worked, and if it is still actually valid.
As for the team, I have no idea. I don't follow Nascar and had never heard of them before they were rumoured to enter Asian Le Mans and/or IMSA. |
