I have been told that Mike Newton will bring the Osprey again for ride laps, and possibly the Ford Falcon that he used at the 24hr race at Silverstone. The Falcon if it comes will be very exciting for ride laps, 600 HP.

Is that the one that Ian broke last year?

yes it is kaybee, i have been told though ian and nadine will not be there so it might survive the day this time.
i seen the falcon at the 24 hr this year, i tell you it put on a spectacular light display in the early hours as the exhaust was coming off and showers of sparks about 3 foot high folowing it round

mike's a legend - do you know if he's dragging Tommy with him again too?

...and for your information i was in complete control as the back end of my 106 went light round Cascades. It was just bedding in my new tyres you see...

Have found something more suitable than an MPV, place booked for Oulton.

The car I'm using was last used at a test day at Oulton, where it went backwards off the track at druids, I'm hoping for better luck

The exhaust never came off the Falcon during the 24hr race.

However it will prove an exciting ride lap car.

Stephen, are you comming to Oulton this year?

The only thing that came loose was the prop shaft, after we had changed the clutch mike went out did one lap and the prop destroyed the needle bearings holding it in place. I did not realise that it had dragged on the floor.

so don't go mad, just enjoy running about the stunning Oulton Park faster than the normal 40mph you stick to when on way to post. Don't forget there's a fair few race cars coming, so enjoy passenger rides in them if you're scared of ruining your own car.

Oh go on, I only went off the once last year and that was because I was so surprised at getting the first two bits of knicker right that i ended up at the exit going a lot faster than I had before! Besides i will be slowed down by the amount of mud I will pick up on the Roger Albert the days before

There may be some exotica there, Ospreys and so on, but come and have a ride in a REAL sports car/racer. The Triumphs will be there, ready and willing to take you around. We got ignored last year! Sniff!

I do not know if there is any helmet hire. Dont rely on it.
As for ride laps, I will be with Mike Newton and the Osprey and Falcon. Just come and see us and join the que.
If both cars are running together, I might bring some different coloured tickets and work some sort of number system.

Guys, if you have a helmet please take it with you as there only limited numbers available at each circuit. By all means arrange a ticket system to make sure everyone gets a fair crack at the rides, but please note that the day is organised and run for us by MSV, so we MUST take their wishes into account above all others.

If it's anything like last time, the cars will be given a pit garage each, or to share, and you just go long and ask for ride. If there is a queue, take a turn.
I hope you will sign on, and sign away your rights to injury compensation beforehand, unlike when you sign on to marshal and acquire similar rights!

Helmets? Don't know, or even if there will be any for hire. Sorry, but no one's coming out with me unless they do wear one! Can you borrow a helmet? Any biker mates?

Ah, erm, well, if anyone saw the Black focus with the "Stage Commander" signs on it at the Gold Cup then they have noticed that the stage inspection laps includes some strategic use of the Handbrake, and left foot braking, all in the interests of checking the surface you understand!
