Thanks MH,

Great! thanks for your help.

Sounds like you've been there many times. Will you be going to the race this year?

HARRISON TESTED JAS HONDA ACCORD IN MONZA

Yesterday at Monza, Simon Harrison had his second test in the JAS Motorsport Honda Accord Euro R car that he will be driving in the FIA WTCC finale at Macau. Harrison had already tested the car for the first time in Valencia, on Monday 3rd October, after the FIA WTCC meeting.

At Monza, in the morning the Briton tested the car his team-mate Adriano De Micheli will drive at Macau, and in the afternoon he shared with Roberto Colciago the wheel of a second Accord, also in Super 2000 technical specifications but prepared by JAS for long distance races, like the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Both, Harrison and team principal Alessandro Mariani were pleased with the test.

In Macau, Harrison’s and De Micheli’s car will sport a new white-and-yellow livery, carrying the colours of the Hong Kong-based Noble Group.

Hope Noble will do a full season with JAS (Harrison & Colciago) next year.

Anyone know who is sponsoring Andre's Alfa entry? Andre Couto should update his website as his last entry was in '01? Or does he have another website other than http://www.andrecouto.com. There seems to exist another abandoned website under http://fitini.net//acouto/ as well? Surely, he should have a more professional/up to date website?

On the official WTCC site's entry list appears also this entrant:

65 Ao´s Racing Team Hironori Takeuchi (JPN) Toyota Altezza

It would be intersting to see another RWD car... I think it's only a Super Production car upgraded to S2000 spec however...but better than nothing

it is in developed based on super 2000 spec while using with Ao Chi Hong

I think we can expect lots of crashes in Macau WTCC this year.

Especially as both BMW and Alfa Romeo are not needing their current cars next year...

I would guess that Alfa and BMW would like to sell their old E46s to other teams so having them heavily destroyed or damaged is not good?

If they have chances for a seat in Maserati as rumoured - they will care.

Some photos that may help show what you can see from Reservoir Stand (concrete steps). It can get very hot there. Dont forget your hat and sun lotion. There is a big TV screen opposite.

I guess both sides are not really care, as it is meaningless to keep cars which didn't win the championship!

Even though they didn't win the championship, they could be resold to other teams/championships to try and partially recover their initial investment?

am....as the championship still not decided yet, I guess both sides would think how to win the race rather than thinking what to do with their cars afterward right?

I have once read an article about Steve Soper and he said during his racing seasons in DTM, Bigazzi would do everything for him to make sure he win the races - if he crashed the car or blew an engine, they would get him another one, no question asked. That's the attitude of professional teams.

p.s. still looking the pics for you at the moment........

Engtsler is shipping another car over for Scharmach. Engtsler's own car, Ao Chi-Hong and Paul Poon's cars have all been shipped to Macau after the ATCC Zhuhai race.

A TOYOTA ALTEZZA FOR TAKEUCHI AT MACAU
Hironori Takeuchi from Japan and James Kaye from England were the latest additions to an already impressive entry list, which comprises of 33 drivers from 12 countries.
The first Japanese driver to join FIA WTCC, Takeuchi will be at the wheel of a Toyota Altezza run by the Macau-based Ao’s Racing Team, marking the first appearance of a Toyota car in the championship. It will be the only rear-wheel-drive car of the field besides the BMWs. Takeuchi has a long standing relationship with the Japanese manufacturer, for which he won the 2001 All Japan GT Championship.
Kaye (41) is a Touring Car veteran, with 11 years of experience in the BTCC in which he claimed two Privateers’ trophies and one Production Class title. In the current season Kaye raced a Synchro Motorsport Honda Civic, while at Macau he will drive for GR Asia alongside Tom Coronel.
Peter Scharmach, 41 from Germany, will replace fellow countryman Franz Engstler at the wheel of the second BMW 320i car run by the Engstler Motorsport team, alongside that driven by Paul Poon from Hong Kong. Scharmach took part in the 2002 and 2003 Macau Guia Race, in both cases was classified fourth in Race 1 at the wheel of a Schubert Motors BMW.
Source: www.fiawtcc.com

So Engstler will not drive at Macau. And Egstler Motorsport enters only 2 cars instead of 3.

I'm sure Engstler wanted to race, but I'm assuming that Peter Scharmach and Peter Poon are renting the rides so if that help pays for the cost of the cars, Engstler would give up his seat for them? He doesn't have a regular title sponsor for his cars?
