take a close look if they show the on board camera with massa on the straight.
From what i could see,the yellow was just being displayed,so there is no way he could have seen it.
Plus i thought the dash had yellow warning lights on it,if so,if wasn`t flashing.
So imo i would say he done nothing wrong

He set his fastest lap under waved yellows, but the incident happened about 3 seconds away from the finish line with Sato's crashed car way off the racing line at the side of the track. Interesting decision for the race stewards to make, as it could set a precedent for other waved yellow situations

For ignoring/not obeying yellow flags.

Whether he saw it was irrelevant. A driver could always lie and say they didn't see it.

Or are drivers now allowed to choose whether to obey them? I must consult my blue book. I didn't read that bit.

If it's considered dangerous for the McLarens to be moving slowly whilst other cars are on track doing flyers (Malaysia), then the same rule should apply here for a stationary car. Yes, I know it was hard to spot the flag (if indeed it was just the one on the pit straight and not before the corner), but the yellow flag rule is supposed to be non-negotiable.

not saying he ignored it,going by the on board camera,you just catch a millisecond of the marshal pulling out the flag.
i do think it was out of his line of sight,even if he turned his head.
But was there a yellow flag out at the previous post,coz the pit lane entrance was waving a green,then went to yellow.
i think that could be the main factor in the stewards decision

Even if he'd lifted off he'd still have finished a full half-second ahead of everyone (including Raikkonen). Rules is rules (like James said) but if there was only one yellow (on the finish straight, rather than an earlier one before the final turn) then the issue becomes more grey than black and white.

Why the flags were still out is a mystery to me.

Very chuffed for that pole position - I think a certain Mr. Koper is going to be pretty pleased too!

I've got a feeling those Ferraris are pretty heavy, and I wonder if Heikki has a touch more fuel than Lewis. Nick is 0.7 seconds off Robert - even with accounting for fuel, he really doesn't seem to agree with this year's Beemer
