el_cat should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It might just be my opinion, but I think that if EE and Durango are the only applicants they might be better teaming up?

From what I know EE have the design and construction capabilities, but their running of a race team is limited to an unsuccessful closed-prototype effort at Le Mans and in the LMS? I am sure I remember at the time the car came late and had little testing which wouldn't have helped, but perhaps they wern't as operationally slick as they could have been?

Durango on the other hand are an experienced race team, who have little experience of actually building a car. I seem to recall them building and running a prototype in the early 00's, which wasn't particularly fast. It does seem there is a back-story as to whether Pinton is legit and has the funding, but his column in todays Autosport suggests that his investors were not so interested in GP2 but would stump up for F1.

So to me an ideal scenario would be a car built and designed at EE but run by the Durango boys. That would give them the best hope.

There might be some other ones who have applied but not published their intention. Remember Manor (Virgin) last year. They were not saying anything before but then they were suddenly on the entry list.

Yeah, even the FIA needs a good laugh now and then.

The FIA has announced that there will be no 13th team entry in 2011, apparently because none of the applicants were "good enough".

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/86468

One has to wonder then, what amazing criteria the new teams fulfilled to get 2010 entry?

Tick the following boxes;
- The least developed chassis?
- The most shaky finances?
- The most money pay drivers can bring?
- The most disorganised team?
- The least prestige/history a team brings?
