And at last there's a pilot that I'd like to "support". David Sigachev to drive a Merc SLS in team of Seyffarth. Maybe it's a step in DTM direction with possible links to Mucke.

Ah, scusi. Not Seyffarth team, but MS team, that won PCC in 2009.

Is there a way to watch the races live on the internet?

Officially not. Unofficially.... maybe.
I don't know if it's much of a consolation for you, but both races of French GT (and all support races) will be streamed on that series website tomorrow and the day after that. Back on topic: Qualifying for GT-Masters is about to start, T&S can be found here |

Top 10 in Q1. Makes: Alpina - Audi - Viper - Ferrari - Mercedes - Lamborghini - Mercedes - Audi - Porsche - Corvette All of them within 8/10s of a second, but then, I am wondering how telling these times are, anyway. Traffic must be a nightmare with 40 cars on track on a Mickey Mouse Circuit like Oschersleben. Results for Q2 are still unknown due to some timing and scoring problems. |

A lineup to put the FIA series to shame, for sure! I think the races are being broadcast live on TV (Kabel1?) in Germany again this year, so they should be floating about the internet after if not during.

Yeah it's live on German TV - and completely free to air and available for pretty much everybody with a TV-set - so there is a good chance that someone will indeed stream it.

Great race today... settled down a little towards the end, but the final lap was all fireworks again!
Too bad Farnbacher messed up their pitstop, they could have won a podium today... Results Race 1 |

MS Mercedes finished 6th. It's interesting to know how good was their race but I'll have to wait until there's a video review at kabel1 site.

Sigacev was less than 1 second from Mies in 4th at the finish, so I'd say they had a pretty good race. Best SLS was merely one place in front of them. They came pretty much out of nowhere, though. I think Mies and Zuber were slowing eachother down, which allowed Sigacev to catch up with them... they sure weren't on TV a whole lot.

Well, race 2 was a little bit "endurance" or destruction derby. Of course, I was more interested in MS Racing. At the very begginig Stohl had to drive through the grass to avoid contact and was down to 19. What happened next I don't know, but Sigachev appeared close to top-10 and after Simonsen and Farnbacher unlucky duel David became sixth. Now he and Florian are best placed Mercedes-equipage in WM-stand.
PS Glad to see Bernd in Merc garage. |

I was glad to see not one crash at t1 during the start lap in race 1 despite the 40 car grid. Unfortunately i couldnt watch race 2
And yes the final lap of race 1 was one of those magic moments you only get to see once in a very long while. brilliant stuff |

Stoll's car was damaged in a start collision - bad stearing. But MS drivers managed to save tyres (thank their PCC experience) and that helped them to keep a good pace at the finish. It's pity that wonderful Sachsenring seems to be nonsuitable for Mercedes. Or am I mistaken?

Yes, but I think the first sector with slow flowing curves is not a good area for the car that looks long-based and rather big. I think Lambos and Ferraris will be better there. And I won't put my money on Alpina anyway.

36 cars for this weekend's races at Sachsenring, weird and drawn-out schedule this weekend thanks to the inclusion of GT1. Free practise 2 is underway right now.
Livetiming is here The entrylist can be found here, though there are some cars on it that are apperantly not at the track. The two Hegersports Porsches and Mamerow's SLS just to name three... |

Nasty crash at the start of the first race, the Renauer-SLS flipped and it took quite a while to get the driver out because the car was on its roof and naturally the swing doors wouldn't open...
Better not think about it what happens if the car is on its roof and on fire...scary! Another SLS driver, Lance David Arnold, caused this..leading champion Albert von Thurn & Taxis, who's car was also involved in the crash, to call him an a$$hole on live tv... good stuff. |

It's awful!!!!
I've thought about it, but the very first crash has proved it. How does the pilot have to leave the car if it's upside down and caugth fire?! He can not open the door even if he's not hurt. It's just amazing how that car was homologated. AFAIK BMW M1 was designed with that type of doors but that didn't go to the conveyer because of safety reasons. And here they have to call a bulldozer to let the driver climb from the car. Just amazingly stupid. |

Saw that crash on YT, mad! The Lambo was an innocent bystander in that case, the Merc was lucky! & yeah those gullwing doors haven't been thought through properly! btw, I'm not a viewer of this series but everyone's been talking about the better talent of drivers than Euro GT3! Do they have a streaming service where I can watch??
