Nice pictures Alan, have you got any older cars in your archives?
Just for us REALLY old blokes. Cheers, bauble. |

Great stuff young Alan, never mind the modern '60's tat, let's have more pre 1960 cars on the forum, when they made interesting models to photograph, before Chapman and Cooper ruined it forever.
Well when you are know as an Old Codger you are entitled to be biased: |

Reminds me of when the pitlane reporters at the Le Mans 24 Hours refer to the mechanics changing the 'front nose'..... Where else would you have a nose.......?

Nobody knows where the nose goes, except them that knows how air flows, over those noses.

Nice pics Spike and Alan, thanks. I see a Brabham and baby T70 (B16) in there.....
So what is the streamliner at Goody, please? The Plymouth Superbird really took the term 'nose job' to an extreme. What always amused me, and it is evident on the car pictured, is what a crap job they did of getting the plastic moulding to fit the original car! At least on the Droop Snoot Firenza and Escort RS2000 they look integral.... |

Indeed they could!
We could have threads for rear ends, side profiles, overhead shots and cockpit shots, I guess, but erm ..... perhaps not. Mind you we are getting into the 'quiet' season, so we have to while away the time somehow! Anyway more noses. The Cooper Bristol has a helluva schnozzle!:- |

Mike B. The car you are referring to is a Vanwall, 2.5 litre Formula 1 car of the 1950's, but you knew that I bet.
John T, I have personal recollections of the Farrelac Allard, as I knew Don Farrell, and I have always had a soft spot for the Revis, and remember Reg Bicknell winning at Crystal Palace a country mile ahead of some of the best 500cc drivers of the day. Happy days. Because my hero, Mike Hawthorn sprang to fame in a Cooper Bristol it is another car I love to see in action. No idea what the saloon is though. Spoilt the display entirely. As you say we have to do something over the long winter days and nights, so let's continue with 'lovely bits'. Keep it up, as the actress said to the Bishop. Yeah! I do not mean the lovely Alfa. For sheer beauty of line, sense of purpose, and so obviously right for it's intended use, NOTHING can beat the following;
Yes I know that Uncle John decreed lovely noses, but as we appear to have deviated from the true path, I have no compunction in posting several views of one of most iconic cars ever to grace a circuit. Now please do not even attempt to post your own favourite car/plane/derriere, and tell me it is better looking. You should know by now that I am the worlds greatest Bigot |
