Proccesional, but dull ? I quite like racing being close, the most entertaining being Turkington fighting with Gene and Muller. Gene slowing up Turkington then the diesel pulling him away again out of Surtees and leaving Muller a chance to catch Turkington.

Are the Top 9 really being reversed ? Bring back Martin Haven ! Oh and Marc Gene does not drive for SEAT.

Poor coverage by Eurosport, only cut to the coverage just as the lights were turning, and they just missed the restart after the safety car as they were showing ads instead.

Poor.

Race 2 done and dusted and Colin finished 4th - fantastic result for both him and WSR. I think this weekend has but Colin in shop window for a few WTCC team's will we seem moving over to the WTCC 2008? I have already tipped him to win the 2008 BTCC.

BTW IMO Farfus was at fault for the incident on the re-start with Menu, he appear to move accross and chop him off.

It appeared that way, but he probably wasn't expecting Menu to make a move up the inside, given that it's illegal under safety car conditions.

I can see what your saying but I think Menu was lining him for a run into Paddock Hill.

Glad I didnt make the effort to get to Brands Hatch for that dull racing.

Glad that Andy won though!

I dont think what Menu did was illegal - he hadn't passed him, but it was a bit of a mis-judged move if he was trying to line up a pass as soon as they crossed the line.

I didn't, cos Eurosport never showed the damn race when they were supposed to. Supposed to have been shown at 1730 but tuned in to find a load of GT cars trundling round. Bah.

Sounds like a good day or Andy though - he must be in a good position now?

Some 12 points ahead of Augusto Farfus now: http://dnl.fiawtcc.com/2007_WTCC_Points.pdf

He's had 1 less win than Farfus too, which show's Andy's consistency, and that's whats won him the last three titles I suppose! It'd be nice if someone could beat him for once ! Hope I'm not speaking too soon but I think this is in the bag for him.

I'm bored of Priaulx tbh, as much as it's nice to have a British WTCC champion , same winner 4 years in a row gets a bit tiresome.

I'd find it boring if he went out and dominated almost every race and won the title at a canter, a la Michael Schumacher, but that has never been the case.

The thing is that Priaulx is a true gentleman driver, which I admire.

He doesn't rely on rear quarter panel bashing in order to pass the car in front.

He is a worthy champion, in any year.

I know what you mean, and I agree, but he's not a 'Gentleman Driver' in the commonly accepted sense of the phrase.

IMHO The problem was not with the maneuvre, but when it did happen. The camera did not show it well, but I think this happened just after the SC went to the pits and drivers were about to restart AFTER they cross the finish line. But the contact happened before the line, so according the rules, Menu should have slowed down when Farfus went to the right. If it was during the regular race, Menu would have no room and it the contact would not be his fault. In this case, Farfus was defended by SC rules and even he was driving dangerously, he had a right to stay in front of Menu. Had not it happen before the line, Menu would probably get no black flag.

During one camera shot inside Farfuses car, Augusto went furious screaming something in portugeese using the words SAFETY CARE. Probably something like "but it happend during the safety car period!!!"

A good couple of races today I thought and some good results for the British drivers, Priaulx as calculating as ever in race 1 and got himself a good solid win in race 2. Thompson too had a good weekend I think, 2nd in race 1 and a points finish in race 2. I was really impressed with Turkington though, yes in race 1 Gene moved aside to let past Muller and Turkington but he would still have been on for a good 4th place anyway and he had a great race in race 2 and beat Gene fair and square and got a good 4th place. Maybe we will see him in the WTCC next year?

Well, if he is the best driver in the best car, the championship would be a joke if he wouldn't win it. But if we are going to compare him with schumacher, wouldn't it be nice to another manufacturer, to show that it is not just the BMW that's winning the game. Maybe Honda, with whom he has a history in the BTCC.

I don't want to be picky, but I actually believe that Gené let Turkington through in both races. If you look at his pass on Gené in race 2, you see its a very easy pass, Gené gives him loads of room and looks like he brakes early too. Then moments later he lets Muller pass him (just like in race 1).

However SEAT race-fixing aside, it was a good weekend for Priaulx, I guess this puts him in a very strong position now for the title, he just has to score a few points in each race in order to secure the title.
