Denied by Red Bull Racing but doesn't identify who made the statement and of course, as the article points out, doesn't deny that Newey could be leaving for a sabbatical.

As with all the claims and accusations in this whole RBR saga, may be a while before we know what is really happening.

Massive news - if it is true. I know a modern F1 car is the result of more than one mans labour, but even so I would imagine that pretty much every single F1 team would love to have him onboard.

Would he even want to continue I wonder? He must be minted and perhaps would like more time to do other things? It would be interesting to hear what he has to say.

He has recently said he has no interest in retiring because he looks at his brain as a muscle that needs exercising.
Also because he could dictate the terms on which he was going to supply services to Red Bull I doubt those terms would have included gardening leave provisions.

I would say the "denial" from RBR is pretty thin and leaves all options open IMHO

Yes, as everyone knows he has a contract through 2025. But what are his exit clauses? Has he indicated he plans to exercise them?

Maybe they just don't know yet where he plans to go or what he plans to do?

Jos Verstappen is running his mouth yet again.

https://x.com/Planet_F1/status/1785767706190340459

The blowup Jos is referring to here is Helmut Marko and their collective threat of Max leaving to get rid of Horner. That is the doomsday scenario he is painting.

The real doomsday scenario for Red Bull racing is if Christian Horner leaves. He built RBR. He already managed the team through a down cycle and the loss of a 4 time champion driver in Vettel. Losing Max will hurt. But losing drivers is part of the business. That Horner has 18 years of experience with.

Even Pierre Wacha reports directly to Christian Horner. Not Newey. Or Helmut Marko.

Does anyone really think that Red Bull will be the same with Wacha reporting to a rookie CEO like Oliver Mitzlaff ? Who was running marathons when Red Bull started? Not a chance.

There is not a single quote from Jos in that clickbait post.

You obviously haven’t been watching this year.He has been outstanding and has handed your West Australian compatriot a complete thrashing.
So that would make Haas Yuki and Bearman.

After 7 GPs, Yuki Tsunoda is currently 10th in the WDC, with 15 points. Team mate Danny Ric is 14th, with 5 points and the two Haas drivers, Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen are 13th and 16th, with 6 and 1 point.

There's a long way to go, with 17 more GPs, so I think Yuki Tsunoda's desire to leave the Red Bull program is a little premature at this stage.

This is Tsunoda we are talking about not Verstappen. I don't know who wrote that piece above - but the use of phrases such as BOMBSEHLL and SHAKEN THE WORLD OF F1 and OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES seem a little over-excited. Perhaps the author has been drinking to many cans of Monster Energy drink.

I would perhaps replace such phrases with BANG AVERAGE DRIVER and SOME PEOPLE ARE A LITTLE BIT INTERESTED.

I see nothing wrong with a driver keeping his options open. I can imagine this is a message to Red Bull as much as anything.

Only if Haas gets over his reluctance to have a rookie.
In view of Bearman's failure to establish any dominance in F2 that may not be altogether a wrong move.
Another year in F2 will not create any real lack of progress in Bearman's career.
He can remain a reserve for both F1 teams will some F1 pedigree.
If he has an awesome second year in F2 then he will only enhance his prowess and doing some WEC in 2025 as well as F2 could be a further enhancement.

After all Ferrari has Leclerc and Hamilton both on long term contracts.
Bearman is 17 going on 18, so he has a lot of years left to race and a solid F2, some good Fp1 outings and some WEC would only reinforce his solidity as a reliable, consistent bet for a seat at Haas for a couple of years and then on to Ferrari as a substitute for Hamilton after his contract runs out.

Putting Bearman in the Haas as a number two in 2025 and then him having a Sargent type year at Haas will not open any doors for him.

Trouble is Bearman's performance in Saudi and to an extent Lawson's good job last year with At/RB has arguably made F2 look a bit suspect.

Both these guys have shown speed but struggled to get consistent results in F2. Victor Martins is goimg througj the same issues thus season with ART.

There are 2 ways to look at it.

Either F1 cars are much easier to drive than we thought, or, top quality young drivers are beimg stifled by the odd characteristics of the F2 cars and tyres...

They just mentioned on Sky Sports F1 coverage of Monaco FP3 that Rudy Van Buren is the Red Bull simulator driver for this weekend as Buemi and Dennis are at Formula E. Doesn't strike me as the most "Normal" path to F1?

He's a semi professional sim driver - I say "semi" because that's just one of the strings to his bow.

I believe he also builds and sells sim rigs.

Pretty much any F1 driver of the last 20 years will tell you that F1 cars are much easier to drive than the junior formulae cars.

Getting the final degree maybe not so much, but competence definitely.

I know this get discussed to death but for a team renowned for its ruthlessness, I just cannot see any justification for Perez to retain his seat next year.
All the chatter seems to suggest that the second RB seat is not up for grabs - which if I find baffling given Perez’s quali performances. They need a good strong number 2, especially given the diver line ups for McLaren and Ferrari in 25.

At the very least, put Yuki in it!

That seems to be my thoughts too but then i actually looked back at the previous race results (I dont watch every race any more) and actually i was quite surprised that Perez actually has better results than i thought. The question i guess we need to ask is "Is the Red Bull genuinely that far ahead given Maxs results or is Max just an alien?"

Imola - P8
Miami - P4
China - P3
Japan - P2
Australia - P5
Saudi - P2
Bahrain - P2
