Believe it's one of the old Dyson cars from 05/06 (Lola B06/10, AER engine apparently replaced by a Judd V10). Here's a clip with Guy Cosmo at Mid-Ohio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25z_ZoCbw1E Now, who said you can't drive P1's there?! |

Video that shows why we hear so much mechanical whining on the 2014 Audi R18 from the ACO/FIA onboards, and the likely fact that they turn the microphones down during races:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ro1yEkiEgbs Turn up your volume for this one, and notice how much further forward the ACO/FIA cam is mounted on the car: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ro1yEkiEgbs Last edited by chernaudi; 27 Sep 2014 at 17:59. |

You posted the same link twice but I guess you mean the usual boring windscreen angle from broadcasts.
That kind of angle would be so much more interesting. The current windscreen angles are made worse by all of the P1H cars having white front-ends, so other than camera position (left/right) and engine sound (which is distorted, crap and so muted in race broadcasts), there's no difference between them when quickly looked at. Another Autohedbo test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FkTdCwX-Wk |

Yeah, I wanted to also post this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEYNPCNYohI This demonstrates that the ACO/FIA camera/mic position next to the windshield does mess up the engine sound quality unless the engine is really loud. I understand why they're probably doing it--makes one feel like they're in the passenger seat and it does give the camera a wider field of view out the front. But I mean, at least mount the mic in a better position to give a better balance of hybrid system noise and engine noise, and don't mute it so freakin' much, either. I have excellent JVC Kenwood ear phones that allow me to hear things phenominally well at 20-25% volume, but I have to turn it up to 55-65% to hear the WEC videos, though the vids that Audi release tend to have better sound quality. |

Not videos pur sang, and not all of them on sportscars, but still very enjoyable to watch. Road and Track have collected what they think are the 100 best car GIFs. Certainly a nice collection!

Post the coolest sportscar/GT video you have come across
Stumbled across this on YouTube. A video about the early Porsche GT1 development. Some good footage of the unpainted cars in their carbon glory and some nice onboard film of the cars testing at Porsches own small test track. Cut to 4.30 min mark for the GT1, up til then is just a recount of Porsches overall wins.

O.k., o.k. so it's not a sportscar but rather a record braker, I still think this shouldn't miss from this thread.

McLaren are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their outright win at Le Mans in 1995 and here's a video they made involving Ray Belm and the birth of the GTR project. Quite interesting and 5:40 onwards is a delight for the ears
