Didn’t the Lexus hit the wall? It was parked there, might just have broke, but there were bits of car behind it.

Not sure, there was some damage to the rear of the car with pieces of bodywork left on track but didn't see it hit the wall on replay, just the car going slow close to the wall before stopping. Someone could have hit it from behind.

What number do you mean there exactly?

It's a timer for pit time, extra display that WEC cars don't have When car isn't in the pits, it shows the position in class.

They had some issues reattaching it indeed but looked ok when the car was still running. Now back to the garage (the 65).

In our local V8 Supercars they have a new system this year using digital numbers on the front screen which used to be the car number. Now it is used for overall position so say in an endurance race you can tell a car's overall position, those on the lead lap etc. They can be programmed for other purposes though. From the Supercars website:

The LED Panels are programmed to provide a variety of in-race information.

Notably, information can be relayed to spectators, officials and timekeepers.

Panels can display car number, in-session position, pit stop time, and even a code for the driver’s name.
