And also yeah, I don't think Le Mans was ever on the cards for them next year. So it will be interesting to see what WRT's '23 activities are. |

Not to be a Debbie Downer here, but IMO this was the worst kept secret in the WEC paddock. Unless Audi restarted the LMDH program, or WRT felt like waiting for the Lamborghini program (which they didn't), you could see this from a mile away.
I'll also tell you this: if Dr. Ullrich was still at Audi and Audi Sport, this wouldn't be happening, and they wouldn't be trying to get into F1, certainly by screwing up other programs. Rocky leaving Audi Sport for other pastures should've been taken as a sign that things aren't right at Audi and Audi Sport as far as racing. |

WRT are apparently running Habsburg's Rebels P2 team next year, so hopefully they can retain a two-car WEC programme. |

Funnily enough I've thought similar; F1 was never thought of as a good fit for Audi Sport, and I don't know what's changed. It's still money down the drain - and isn't any more 'road relevant'. |

How will this look on RLL? I have to be honest I have not been too impressed by RLL in last few years with the M8 and the M4...they seem to always be slightly behind operationally compared to their competitors. Only time they seemed on top was Daytons 2020 when they were also the fastest GT in the field
With WRT and their record taking on WEC BMW, could it expose RLL failings? I know they will probably not race against each other but if one is more successful than the other might show up poorly. I do hope RLL manage to improve and be a contender |

If they don't turn in decently close lap times to what WRT is running and have poor race management decisions we could see RLL lose out on the deal but who would they get to replace them?

Where will they run at the same time? I know it's theoretically possible especially the big races. Was it confirmed rll would do le mans or wrt would do Daytona? I haven't seen that but I haven't been looking that closely.
Re: Audi I thought it was well known Audi was moving more towards ceasing internal combustion engines in their road range. Hence the Exodus from sportscar racing be it protos or gt. Yeah F1 is bajillions more budget for questionable road relevance, but that marketing audience is there to tell the most people you are now an electric car company. |

Closest would be Sebring 2024 unless RLL gets sent to LM but you have to assume the one-offs will be a bit harder to get for non-WEC runners.
Sorry, I meant close relative the fields around them. If WRT are consistently at the front and RLL are not, in a field of fairly similar makeup that could be cause for concerns. |

We will not know yet if they will run in the same races, but it was more of a comment on how to me at least it seems that RLL have been underdelivering for BMW in the last few years especially on the operations side. For a team with all their experience they have been struggling against Corvette, Porsche, Ford, Risi and now Pfaff, Heart of Racing and Lexus in GTD Pro. Hopefully this will not carry over to GTP and will be able to challenge

And BMW customer cars might still be a possibility as well - although 2024 sounds too early for that (and Porsche is probably already dominating the privateer market anyway) and a WRT 'clients' campaign is the more obvious route imo.

The sports car 365 Friday notebook from road America has quite a few nuggets about GTP cars testing. Looks like there has been some issues with sensors and other new car things you might expect.

Shows what a livery can do. That Acura looked like the ugly ducking of the new bunch, but the new livery puts it right up there with the best imo.

Take over the defunct Audi project? Wouldn't be the first time they'll be running a car that's basically Audi.

I'm sure they would have some connection with another manufacturer from the VW group. It seems that would be the most logical thing to do
