No bumps, no humps, no drastic change in elevation. Their car works well without those surprises. Seems they'll step away from that next race.

Hi guys, long time no see! (my last post must be from 2012)
I couldn't resist comming back with such an exciting WEC grid from this year on. Anyway, Peugeot has communicated on it's renewed 9X8 launch date, March 25th at 11h (GMT+1) https://twitter.com/i/status/1767204748732645401 |

I hope the revised car works. They really blew it at Qatar.

Issues at Qatar were team/procedures related more than reliability itself IMO.

Is going to be given a new moniker? Like 9X8b?

I'd vote for 9x8 Evo!
Would fit perfectly Peugeot's historical nomenclature. |

That might depend on whether the upgrades were done via jokers or complete new car homologation (1 allowed).

It seems that they are going for the joker(s) route. "The reason is that ultimately the homologation process that we have now, when you do a new probate or you do a wildcard, you have to do it completely." A french reporter adding: Jansonnie did not wish to specify whether Peugeot had used one or more Evo jokers to make modifications to the powertrain. A part of the hard work done on the Evo is to change the weight balance via ballast and weight reduction of certain front end parts. Next question is how the Evo will be bopped?

Speculatively, how much DF do people think a wing provides @ 200kph? 150kg?

Why not "RB" nomenclature? 'RB Gives You Wings.'

The car might not have any more downforce than before, but what they were chasing is more consistent dynamics.
Sounds like it has shifted the center of pressure, so they are having to move around the weight to match. |

It might be, but I wonder if they have totally ditched the underfloor aero concept or just simply amended it (reduced it) and then added the rear wing?

As a reader/fan of Mulsanne Corner's dive into GTP aero, shifted to the moderns, I would have loved a ' take' of this platform. I posited the question- what is it supposed to do..? So, of course, they pivoted away from whatever the concept was... Reliabilty issues still. Endless cloudy days. |
