Paint one like a TS020, either year. The other in taka-Q yellow.

25 cars for Bahrain. Lowest total amount ever for the wec. Feels like a very weak sendoff for this generation, especially in lmp1 with only the two Toyota's. Hopefully 2021 will be a great year.

Some fun liveries would definitely be appreciated. Funny how ze Germans Audi and Porsche both played around at some point with that, but Toyota has stuck with some version of geometric lizard vomit for quite some time. |

Yeah but it's red, black and white. That's how LMP1s have to be painted. Regulation 163.57(h).

This got my attention. The all time GT lap record at Spa just set by a Ferrari 488................GT3 car. Beating the GTE Pro cars at Spa from earlier this year. |

nothing strange, have always thought that gte/gt3 performance difference is the result of an arbitrary performance window given mainly by bop and tyres. The biggest achievement to me is that an about 1300kgx520hp gt3 car managed to be faster than a 1150kgx600hp monster like was saleen S7R in 2008 (2.13.9 the fastest laptime set by a GT1 car on the actual spa layout). Wonder how faster will be 2022 next-gen gt3. |

Gotta be honest, I think the amount of people who which Toyota wins over the other Toyota in a series of exhibition races is in single digits. The 0.5 sec gap is no more of a farce than the state of the WEC in general right now.

why did they bother, let the toyota's fight it out on an even basis, they are in a race of two cars

I agree. No one else is likely to touch them. It only takes two cars to make a race, so just let them fight it out on an even keel

I agree, but equally if you consider the entire season then isn’t it unfair that one car was hampered for a lot of it and then would get away with this in the final race.
Obviously this point is a little odd when you consider Le Mans didn’t have this. But I see both having it and not having is not ideal. |

For the championship, it would be better to have them. The deal before it all started was to have those handicaps, I would think just sticking with it is the lesser evil. |

The team has no issues with it. And both Toyota's are back to the original minimum weight.

Anyone else watching?
I thought that the race was open to Bahrain key workers? What a shame the nurse wasn't available. |

I've got it on whilst I'm working. Gotta be honest, this is probably the worst state I've seen a series in since ALMS had single car classes. LMP1 is dying with a whimper

As is LMP2 with these couple of Orecas here in yawning Bahrainland. It's the final race with non-spec tires, the final race before power cut, and most likely the final race for non-Oreca 07s (not counting Daytona with that Cetilar Dallara retirement swansong and maybe ASLMS)
At least ALMS LMP1 in 2012-2013 had still interesting charasteristics, with Dysons still occassionally matching Pickett and Rebellion showing up every once in a while. Everyone had uniquesness in them without bop even if there were only 3 or 4 of them. I'll take that any day over this or 2021 and beyond Last edited by Deleted; 14 Nov 2020 at 12:17. |

The one positive of COVID-19 is that we seem to be getting fewer shots of amateur drivers in the garage watching images of themselves on screen for a few seconds before giving the camera a cringy smile and wave.

4 hours in. The only highlight is the wiper of the 7 is still flapping about. Looking forward to how that plays out.
