Rename current LMP2 to LMP1-L and LMP2 can become spec series like FIA-ACO wants.

Nothing has changed from last year, they're still separate sub classes, the one and only thing they've done is renamed LMP1-L as LMP1 Non-Hybrid in the regulations, and in the ACO timing sheets they read as LMP1. Even though the hybrid cars are still labeled as LMP1-H... so you have LMP1-H & LMP1 there which is in no way confusing

So I missed MWM tonight and last week GG said he was going to explain the ACO's case for limited chassis and engine options.
Did this happen and if it did can anybody summarise please? |

* LMP1 Hybrid * LMP1 Non Hybrid And in other parts of the document * LMP1 Hybrid * LMP1 Private Teams Category Then the ACO timing - and likely TV graphics * LMP1-H * LMP1 And finally the actual championship calls the two * LMP1 Manufacturers World Championship * FIA Endurance Trophy for Private LMP1 Teams ... Not only did they not fulfill what they said they wanted with re-merging the two, which didn't happen at all, but it's difficult to believe that last year was actually clearer lol. |

Wow, it's like everyone is talking about the same thing but all calling it something different. Does nobody talk to each other? Lol
I bet everyone in the office is called John, they work on the same project but all call it something different to break the mould. |

Contrast between "Private Teams Category" (LMP1 Non Hybrid) "and "Manufacturers World Championship" (LMP1 Hybrid) doesn't even make any sense considering that you can technically enter privateer car into the hybrid sub class if you want as well. So if Rebellion had installed hybrid for R-One this season like they sort-of-considered, would they have become manufacturer cars? Or still being eligible for Private Teams Category / LMP1 N-C / LMP1 as LMP1-H entries?
In any case, we can all now laugh at this news piece http://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/l...cture-in-2015/ How about initial for all cars like, I don't know, this LMP1 And you classify them as ILMC did so awesomely (think they should've classified Pescarolo there at least though, they did as many joint races as Oreca and AMR) If you still wish to award the privateers for their efforts, give the awards according to placements in the overall chart and continue having race-by-race trophy ceremonies for best placement too if that the sort of fetish one must have. But wouldn't this provide CLARITY. Something they spoke about in the article above? Last edited by Deleted; 2 Apr 2015 at 12:48. |

SMP have moved on to Barcelona for some more testing. And confirmation of the driver line ups in the two cars.

Great article . Somewhat proves my point Not all P-2 teams Have the Want , Needs , Nor the Budget to go to LM . Same for Foreign teams coming over here to Participate in our Big 4 Endurence races . 4 chassis and 4 engine options are the best way to go .
NO DP class after 2017 ? I will believe that when I see it . |

There's no DP class nowadays either - it went outta the window with the start of the new series last year - just DP cars in the P(rototype) class...

Four chassis and one engine is fine for a low-level spec series designed to separate rich men from their money.
Fine for ELMS which no one cared about and now will care about a lot less, which is still nothing. Fine for AsLMS which no one even knows about. Basically, kiddie-cars for the kiddie series. And for TUSC, basically a return to DP days, where everyone had a clone chassis and a most everyone a clone motor. Any chance of TUSC being taken seriously among sports car fan just went down the sewer pipe. Too bad, the series did so much work to improve over the off-season. Now we can all look forward to Rolex 2017. |

Or we can look forward to when the result collapse of IMSA's prototype categories forces them to give up on LMPs and become one of the world's most awesome GT series. THAT is actually something to look forward to, and I do hope most of the current teams can run in World Challenge and the CTSCC until that happens so that they can lead in the new IMSA.

Too bad spec Protos are getting in the way and get the overall win. Let them take overall then you can state it as fact.
