Never raced and never built. The car in the picture was a road car with a few NGTC style panels.

The plan wasn't to race the cars themselves but to build them for customers to race. Problem was, there were no customers.

No. These are EVs only, base car has to come with a petrol/diesel engine.

This thread is for rumours and predictions about the 2024 season.

You are asking for a prediction on what might happen in 10 or 15 years time? We'll all be living on the moon and traveling around on personal jetpacks.

I think that you are worrying unnecessarily as I believe that the end of sales of ICE vehicles will be kicked down the road as has already happened in the UK. Only two days Hertz announced that they were selling 20,000 EVs as there was no customer demand for them and replacing them with ICE vehicles.

Apart from the costs associated with manufacturing batteries for EVs plus shortage of the materials and manufacturing plants to make the batteries, the major problem is the considerable lack of charging points, especially on streets were there is no off-street parking. If you can't charge them up when at home, you're just left with an unmoveable lump of metal.

Dead in the water idea. Just as much pollution (or even more) from the batteries production/disposal and no one actually knows what to do with the dead batteries at the end of life or the long term effects from them.


And a Big NO to BTCC using them !!!.

In London if you don't have off street parking, the council will install a charge point in your nearest lamp post (unless the nearest one is on a junction).

Surprised that's not happening in every city.

Anyway, seeing as I'm being told off for changing the subject, let's get back to the subject of 2024.

My prediction, is for the 2 Aiden Moffatt TBLs & the Carl Boardley one, will be used by Team Dynamics, with Butcher, Thompson & Shedden.

I do hope we see Dynamics back. However something needs to be announced soon, otherwise I can't see it happening. We'll see what's announced on the final day of the AI today

I’m believe in a Dan Lloyd on stage interview at Autosport yesterday there was mention of his announcement for BTCC 2024 coming next week. We will see…

I was wondering if Dan Zelos would be moving up to an Excelr8 seat this season? Possibly in place of Nick Halstead.

7x FK8s were built. Six of them have been run by BTC / One Motorsport.

Only chassis #001 has been run exclusively by Team Dynamics.

Doubt it if Excerl8 is asking as much money as last year. Presumably now PMR, One (if they return) and Restart (line-up set) would be the ‘cheaper’ spots on the grid?

Exactly, so many drivers with potential could do a lot with that seat but it’s expensive. Thinking the likes of Lloyd, Thompson and a few others

100% untrue, its a common myth spouted by the anti-RV mob on social media because it fits their agenda with zero evidence, especially when the reason Hertz themselves gave was lead time on replacement parts after accident damage. To state that its lack of demand is ridiculous.

According to Johann Rawlinson, Hertz VP of Investor Relations, "collision and damage repairs on an EV can often run about twice that associated with a comparable combustion engine vehicle." The difference is significant enough that it weighed significantly on Q3 earnings.

In fact, according to Stephen Scherr, Hertz's CEO, "there's quite a bit of the cost element that relates to the Teslas as opposed to others." Scherr pointed to GM's EVs, which benefit from a larger parts and repair network nationally and lower parts and labor costs for repairs. Note that a full 80 percent of Hertz's EV fleet is Tesla models.

Anyway, back onto topic. Team Dynamics days as a BTCC team are over according to Matt at Autosport show this morning.

No, they leased the 3 Dynamic’s ones in 2023, as they didn’t have to rebuild their front ends to accommodate the Neil Brown engines. It will be interesting to know if they’ve done anything to their Civic’s in the meantime.

Rumour has it matt neal was at brands with a truck to take the 3 dynamics civics back as one Motorsport hadn't paid for them. Again all rumours but there was an extra truck seen
