Anyway, Le Mans 2016 with the disgraced one hour SC start (not to mention them even proposing stopping the race which had never ever been done before) which continued until the track was near bone dry just like in F1 is the one I'm always going to be referring as the "not allowed to race in the rain anymore" example |

Not so impossible, as far I know CLM is still built around the adess lmp2 monocoque used for lotus T128 back in 2013.
Kolles had 2 cars.... actually is just about to produce enough spare parts and get enough supplies (gearboxes, electronics, engines etc...) to be used on a second car. Anyway, the main problem for them is budget shortage.... if you ask to me, it will be already a great achievement if one CLM will be fielded outside europe. |

They already talked about in in the winter of 2014-15 (?) IIRC, about it being a test mule if not sold to anyone.
Anyway I guess if they could get the thing running by the end of the year, second entry request for Le Mans 2019 pretty much quaranteed? |

Hope they can be competitive. Their record so far has been less than wonderful. They have about 3 years start on all the other Lmp1 Privateers however! I am really looking forward o the 2018/2019 Superseason however and I hope to be at one of the Spa Rounds and at the Sebring IMSA/WEc double header.

Kolles team & drivers continually tell us how quick it is in a straight line which is undoubtedly impressive...however what would be more impressive if the car could do a WEC race without any problems and show good race pace, my fingers are crossed because they certainly seem to try again and again

Some engine trouble on day 2 for ByKolles apparently. Anyone know if Cosworth are still involved? Heard whispers they had walked away. |

Considering the 2015 nissan 3 cars effort, there should be at least 9 engines produced..... don't think fresh new engines have been made exclusively for CLM, guess there's still some engine left for kolles. |

I support this team if only for the simple fact they actually manage to get a car on the track year after year. In contrast to some other programmes that promise big things but never turn a wheel...

It's a good reason to give them a shout out, that's for sure.

Passing FIA tests... That means new crashbox and/or new tub ? A good way to improve weight and suspensions as well as aerodynamics. We'll see sooner than later !

The question I make myself is: why they did so much test with a configuration of the car that will be discarded and not with the car that they will be racing? |

Testing underbody packaging changes, mechanical reliability, tires and drivers. I think it's always a better thing to be able to test on track rather than shaking down cars on race weekend.

F1 cars do the same thing. Big upgrade packages are in the windtunnel and they test the fundamentals of the car first. I'm interested in seeing if these guys actually make the minimum weight. We know they've been heavier so if they've dropped weight, they should be really good.
