However in that case the circumstances were different to now but im skeptical as to how AMR will come out the other end after this, it would not surprise me if AMR switched to a LeMans only programme.
In terms of running costs, there are at least three 'big money' providers in the driver lineup and the money is of a good quality nature (known to pay the right amount on the right day) so I don't think that will be a problem for LMS and LM.

I would be more concerned about the backers for the 'design and construction' of the car--given the current issues about its homologation.

Curiously on the nose of the car there's only the Aston Martin badge

Hopefully the tub isn't written off. Seen as Howard-Chappell says it looks pretty grim.

I can imagine it now:

Dear Mr Birrane

One of our drivers accidentally rearranged one of our swans at this weekend's test. Please could we have another ugly duckling to transform?

Yours sincerely

Well , there is still a tub knocking about someplace , the 2nd of last years AMR 2nd chassis , or this could scupper the AMR Eastern entry ?

Dear Lola.

One new DBR12 tub please.

Deliver next day to HTTP Paul Ricard, or within the week to Prodrive Banbury.

Love.

Surely they'd budget for a new tub at some point in the season, perhaps just not quite this soon..

Back in '89, the Aston Group C project suffered early delays after the first AMR1 chassis was written off in a testing shunt- As I remember they ended up missing the first race. I hope this isn't setting a new Aston Martin tradition....

Hopefully Enge didnt cause that crash, he has an unlucky trackrecord in that area.

Enge confirmed that he had made a mistake at Signes, which is taken with only a lift in an LMP1 prototype. "I went on the kerb on the exit, the car bottomed out and I spun," he said. "If you spin at when you are traveling at such a high speed, you might need even more run-off than this track has to offer."

Sounds almost like the last time he smashed a AM at Le Mans. He needs to learn that limit, thats what differentiates the good endurancedrivers from the brilliant ones.

Hmm, I thought that the 3rd car was the other Charouz car from last year with the "AMR" body panels affixed. Is there any news on how bad the tub is? Is it a definite write-off? Or can it be repaired?
