55 is too many. There were 61 at Spa this year, all with similar pace which made it still difficult but manageable. Wider track than Bathurst in parts with way more run off.
55 at Bathurst with varying car speeds and a tight track with little run off is madness. |

I've raced in a 50 car Prodsports field at Bathurst before and it wasn't too bad. The worst part was getting caught by the quick guys across the top and then hoping they had the patience to wait for the right time to pass. For the most part though you were able to have your own little mid pack battles with cars of a similar pace whilst keeping an eye on the mirrors.
I certainly wouldn't want to be part of a 72 car field though |

As a spectator I'd love to see 55 cars, however that needs to be 55 car rolling out for the first practice session and not a couple of months earlier.

Aww come on let's keep the Holden v Ford crap out of this race. Save it for the 1000, it has it's place there, one of the reasons I like the 12hr is that it's not so tribal. People have their favourites but at the end of the day people are just happy to see a good race.

Even more jealous of those roadside now, would love to hear one of those! Good news, glad to see even more variety.

I think you can say that about race weekend itself. The Bathurst 12H has had a big recent history of losing cars before the start of the race due to shunts during practice and qualifying

Would need to save for a bit longer than that, I'm afraid! If this state keeps going though, it'll definitely move further up the 'to do' list; with the current state of Sebring, it's probably now above that one.

It certainly was one of the few negatives about this years event. I think that there was only about 16 Class A entries to begin with and i stand corrected, but we lost 3 cars before the race and 4 cars within the first 3 hours of the race and whilst pre race attrition is to be expected, 3 cars not starting the race out of 16 leaves a big hole. But that's one of the reasons why next years race is looking great in that the with still some time for Class A additions and withdrawals, we still look look like having about 25 cars rolling out on practice day and some pre race attrition won't leave such a big hole. Bring it on

Henley Racing's ex-GrandAM Mazda RX-8s now appear on an updated Liqui-Moly Australia Bathurst 12 Hour entry list - available at the #B12hr website.
Check out this cool video to see the cars in action at Phillip Island earlier this year - they look and sound the business and will be great additions to the field next February 6-8. ENTRY LIST: http://is.gd/fv6fIO GrandAM RX8s Down Under! www.youtube.com There's a taste of US Sports Car racing down under in 2014.. three ex-Grand AM Sports Car Series Mazda RX8s competing in the Kerrick Sports Sedan Series and ... |

Noticed that Speedcafe are saying that they are still expecting a pair of RXC's to enter.

Great news about the RX8's. Saw one running at Winton earlier in the year when we were racing there and it sounded fantastic!

For instance, we've all known the Henley RX8s were going to run for months - Bruce has said as much in the media. But until the CAMS docs were certain to be OKd and the cars allowed to run - they didn't feature on the list. The same can be said for other cars who have publicly stated their intent / commitment to enter but have not been promoted as such until the I's are dotted, T's crossed, etc. I don't think I'm breaking news here when I say the list on the website currently is not the full list of entries lodged.. but only those who have gone through the full entry process and are locked in to race (or are waiting for their own PR windows / plans to launch to take effect) are listed as such. It's just all a bit neater this year and will hopefully avoid the pain of high profile teams pulling the pin like we all saw a little bit before the 2014 race.. not that those few who pulled the pin changed the way that magical day earlier this year played out.. Shunting in Friday practice and destroying a weekend in the 'Friday Grand Prix', however, is right out of the event's hands... |

Quote from the B12 website from a couple of weeks ago when the Bentleys were announced: "The works Bentleys will appear on the official entry list on receipt of the respective entry forms required to complete entry to the Event."
