I think after the post race incident at Snetterton, and the subsequent departure of Crees from Raceway, teams won’t be so keen on him.
So if others such as Sheddon, Butcher, Gamble, Proctor, Cook etc. have the budget I think they’d all be well ahead of Crees. A last minute deal or a part season to take over a seat later on in 2024 is how I could see Crees return to the BTCC . Even Butel, Edwards and the like would be more preferred drivers in my opinion. |

I think Crees will be looking for series beyond the BTCC.
Would be good to see Shedden back, there surely could be a seat for him somewhere. Wonder where Butcher will end up this year? |

I wonder for Butcher and this has no merit or anything beyond my head , Excler8 and a second Macklin Motors branded i30 for Butcher alongside Ronan Pearson?

Personally, I really think Crees and a few of his ilk should take a crack at TCR. Much as they have a level of ability, as it stands a lucky podium is about the best they could hope for. It's a place at the moment where there would be wins in a proper car, and probably would fill a few gaps in their ability/confidence that would help on a return to the BTCC after a year or two (never too old to learn!) but, it's a free market, and if drivers want to pay the comparatively prestige sum to be on the grid then it's there prerogative.
Have a feeling that the likes of DeLeon have an eye on GT racing (in a similar way to Patterson) and BTCC is just a step on the journey to that destination. |

I've just caught up with all the interviews on BTCC.net & it sounds to me like Watson will be sticking with front wheel drive. So my guess is he's staying with PMR or going to Speedworks if Lloyd, or indeed, anyone else takes his seat at PMR.
Also, regarding the "big announcement" of a very capable driver returning to the BTCC. With no real concrete evidence , I'm going to throw James Thompson in the hat. Possibly back in a Vauxhall at PMR? |

Some interesting bits and bobs.
Does this mean Rowbottom now become solid on the chart of confirmed drivers. I also think Ingram is a better fit for those crisps than Gary Lineker too. https://motorracinguk.com/2024/01/15...btcc-round-up/ |

And with Restart’s line-up complete, I can’t see another team running the one Cupra alongside their 3-4 existing cars, so seems very unlikely that car will be on the grid now? |

Carl’s a smart businessman, so I’d imagine for the right price, the car & TBL could be utilised. If that wasn’t his intention then he’d of sold it or handed the TBL back.

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking Graves Motorsport, running a single car for Max Coates

I think someone mentioned earlier that the money Boardley made from leasing out the car and TBL was used as his TCR budget. I'm sure the intention would be to do the same this year if possible.
Assuming the car is currently in a better state than ones in the finance company's 'storage facility' then leasing Boardley's car/TBL could be a much quicker/easier deal for someone, although I can't immediately think who. I was going to say that it's been some time since we've had a genuine one-car team, but actually it's more recent than I thought. |

Wondering if anything will come to fruition about the potential customer i30s rumour that was doing the rounds at Silverstone? There's not a huge amount of options out there in terms of existing cars if someone did use the Moffat TBLs.

The car could be used by Restart as a spare. Not sure about his TBL. Maybe a new team will use it, as well as the AMR TBLs & 3 new Hyundai's from Excelr8

I doubt Boardley would want to sell/lease the car without the TBL. If the TBL isn't used then it goes back to TOCA and becomes worthless. |

I'm thinking maybe Bobby Thompson in the Boardley Cupra, run by Boardley and some of the ex-HARD mechanics, along with Neal and Plowman.

Would be slightly surprised to see Butel on the grid , but he does bring good backing to whoever he drives for. Haven't seen British GT teasing any announcements for this week which was my initial thoughts admittedly.

I'm pretty sure Jack will be moving away from BTCC, you'd imagine back into GT's of some sort.
