It’s not a looker. Lots of dayglo never works well. After about 1987 it looked cheap. Getting rid of that would help, but there is probably only so much you can do...

Strange though, when I saw it up close at LM scrutineering in ‘16, it looked the business - perhaps it’s just the angle of the shot..... it looks like something that’s been thrown together..... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Well it would considering the car is roughly half coloured. It wouldn't look half as weird if it just had the silver on its front wheel well.

But I agree with what others have said, an improved livery would make it look a little more right. Anyway, if it goes well, I won't much care how it looks, I'd love to see their perseverance finally reap some reward. |

Meh it's fine. And in any case, at least CLM doesn't look the way it is does because of regulative restricting, but because that's the best they came up with... that's different to having mandated cheaply put together ugly machinery (like Daytona Prototype)
The visual aesthetics of all LMP cars - P1, P2 and P3 - are all fine now, I don't find anything to complain about really... I mean going for width rather than height would be preferable but whatever it'll do. The true problems are elsewhere, which is going for spec galore in P2 and P3, and the soulless DPi rebranding / cheapness / performance balancing ideology potentially creeping into what they call GTP. |

The biggest problem (for me) is that they still have the old tub, which causes the weird sudden widening of the nose as it goes up the car. It's all out of proportion - front end is too big for the rest of the car. But hey, if it works it works.

I agree those front fenders are pretty wide. As long as it's competitive they can keep the chassis. I think eventually they'll have to replace it or update it but it's served them, maybe not so well, but they have an entry which is a good thing. Once it's all stickered up I'm sure it'll look better, it usually does.

That's really a regulatory necessity. The R18 only looked different because they pushed the driver way back in the car which there's not much reason to do in a non-hybrid.

The width is a necessity, but not how Kolles has achieved it. That's just there because it's still the old tub they're working with so there's no other solution.

Except every tub has to be the same dimensions at pretty much that point. The BR1 is a new monocoque and has the same "step" where the footbox ends, it's just less aggressive because their nose narrows more gradually.
The only thing that a new tub would do is allow them to move back the point it curves in a few small centimeters, which wouldn't necessarily do anything visually except make the protruding part longer. It's no different than that ugly new nose Mercedes put on their F1 car last season and kept this season. |

Bykolles want a new monocoque for weight2 reasons and a possible higher footbox. But at the moment the price for a new monocoque requiring also a new crashtest are too high |

Didn't the recent early 2010's hpd chassis use one's from old zytek's from years before?

I can't see a single sponsor in the car. Where is the money coming from? LMP1 aren't cheap.
