Agree on parts of AMR/AML - missed opportunity for them.
Put Red Bull first as see this as Red Bull designed car AM-RB01. Timetable would probably have ruled out 2 Verstappens driving it anyway. Change to current F1 team (not owned by AML) means any RB involvement now forgotten. Bit like Lagonda winning in main LM class or Bentley engine in first 1O years or so of DB cars |

The market for super expensive track cars seems unlimited these days: https://racer.com/2022/11/23/grosjea...oing-hypercar/

"Pescarolo Sport is aiming for the WEC in 2024 in Hypercar" I'm aiming to marry Scarlett Johansson and own a McLaren F1 too, just FYI. |

It does seem a bit weird it will be competing without his input

Well, one has to say these new rules are attracting a lot of interest. Most will wait til after '23 to see how it all goes. And if the racing is solid, that teams and manufacturers are competing very well, and the cost remains more than reasonable, then you will see quite a line forming with teams, racing organizations and manufacturers vying to get in on the action.
And all the while, two guys ( one in Florida, and one in France), will be grinning and dancin' in their offices singing...". we're in the money... the skies are sunny..." |

I guess that's one way for the factory to beat the privateers at Le Mans

Unfortunately, that seems to be the norm in today's world. Supply chain issues, delayed manufacture and delivery set backs... it's everywhere. The only ones available are the team cars, and they just have those for testing and the start of the season.
Hopefully, everything will be back on track for the other teams to get their cars, even if it's just a couple of races. |

LMGT3 will be the class name in 2024
https://www.fia.com/news/fia-world-m...g-2022-bologna A few WEC bits in here including a new qualifying split for next year. Dedicated quali for each class. |

'Dedicated bodywork conversion kits will be permitted but not mandatory.'
Have they managed to make a rule even more pointless than the original suggestion of compulsory bodywork conversions? |

But once you’re in with enough cars/teams surely a different aero package for LeMans is surely tempting. And must have been favoured by some manufacturers for the rule to be there? And there’s a fair few with experience. A few kmph more down Mulsanne is basically a must since Bugatti tanks, through D types, 917s etc. since fuel consumption and engine sizes started to be restricted (1930s?) Plus staying on the ground/track and lasting 24 hours. |

I guess if you have a particularly draggy GT3 car then maybe you want to address that, BoP limited lap time permitting.
But we have had GT3 Mercs, Audis, Hondas, Ferraris, Porsches, Lambos etc running at la Sarthe in the Le Mans Cup and they all run at quick tracks like Monza and Spa without special modifications. Anyway, bring it on. Looking forward to more than just the usual GTE cars. |

Look like LMP2 might still have a place after all:

Nearly 25% of the entry spots, a bit much imo.

I think it's good. We had 27 of the things this year. You still need it to feel like a proper class and not a token gesture. It's multi-class racing after all.
I understand trying to simplify the class structure but at the same time you need battles to follow. 15 P2s is a nice number as you know it'll be competitive. |

Not when it's a class that isn't represented in the main championship. Hypercar will have north of 20 entries in 2024 and there will be a gazillion potential GT3 entries ready to eagerly make the big show.
