Porsche fans' fears have been unfounded so far. Lotterer is keeping up after being passed and so far the 919 does have similar race pace.

It is quite a similiar situation as last year in LMP 1.
We have the no. 7(last year n6) Toyota leading, Porsche of Jani and co. chasing and the
no. 8 toyota (no 5 then) catching up and now in second place. The Porsche of Bernhard and Hartley out of the mix just like last year. The no. 9 Toyota is hardly to be regarded as a contender.
So there are like the same 3 cars battling for the win.
