At the only scan I've had they asked me what radio station I listened to so I had radio 2 also .... but by choice. The only other stations I could think of 'off the cuff' were radio 4 (I thought I may not be able to concentrate on the chat) or radio 1 (which was an absolute no no).

This is most peculiar, as I've had a number of MRI scans done in 3 different hospitals, 2 NHS and 1 at a private hospital via the NHS, and apart from being given ear protectors against the noise, I've never been offered any music.

In fact, the last scan was done on a brand new scanner that was in a truck, and which was on loan or trial from the manufacturer. Unfortunately the scanner was barely being used except for dire emergencies as this was in April 2020 at the peak of the first Covid wave, and the hospital had stopped all elective and non-urgent scans.

Perhaps it's a new thing, Mike. Mine was only a couple of years ago.

Now you need to work out how to add your medical checks (assuming you are renewing your international license). - it’s in your profile section/medical documentation part.

Once that’s done and reviewed by someone to confirm validity you should be able to submit your license renewal…

I think!

Just about acceptable, depending on the time of day, up until this year.

Nowadays it seems more like a form of torture, especially when they have "stand-in" presenters who should be on a different channel.

Unfortunately when we are out and about in the car Management insists on Radio 2, though she does not much care for it either.

I'm not sure why. I think it's for the traffic reports and they never, ever seem to be relevant to where we are. The car's satnav or just viewing the map on screen would be a better option.

Tend to agree with you Grant, the presenters they have now are not a patch on previous years. For me it's just background noise.

You are right there . Try GREATEST HITS radio , it is a lot more listenable to . Trouble is it does seem to have different frequencies in different areas , so might take a bit of finding .

GH Radio on DAB Plus also changes regions so occaisionally it overlaps as you cross an area.

There's always boom radio but that goes back a bit far for my taste. Can't stand Presley in any way shape or form.

I've gone to Jazz FM which is DAB+ and online/mobile. It broadcasts a huge range of music - not just jazz - with old classics including Motown, although some of the more modern stuff is definitely not to my taste. Overall, it's OK in the background.

Try to get to see ELO if you can. They announced their farewell tour recently. The band are finishing for good in 2025, no more recording/ gigs.

I didn't realise that until the tribute band mentioned it. Would be good to see the real thing one last time.

Watched a Rolling Stones concert on TV here last night & very good it was too. Of course I have no idea how long ago it was recorded! Madison Square Gardens in New York.

Meanwhile, for radio it is FranceBleu for me on the very rare occasions I actually bother.

Saw them a few years ago, absolutely brilliant, expensive but well worth it. Check listings for gigs, music press etc.
