AH competições will run 2 Huracáns instead of the M6's
Maybe something happened, since they dropped the "BMW Sports Trophy" moniker The BMW looks like it's struggling to attract costumers, while the Lambo is a sale's success |

It's ****ing cold over here in western Europe. Unusually cold for this time of the year. Should get a bit better on Friday and Saturday, just have to hope it'll be good enough so the track isn't frozen in places like it was a couple of years ago for the season finale.

MWM talked to the head guy at Callaway about the GT3 Corvette. He kinda danced around the question regarding someone buying a car and then entering it in PWC or IMSA. He did say that he thinks GM would throw their weight around and make sure the car would be banned from competition.
Who knows? Maybe the strange case of the American car that can't race in America might come here in a year or so. The guy whose name I can't remember did say that he's trying to get it approved to race in the US though. He also said that the car is going to spend a good bit of the winter testing in America! |

Thoughts or ideas on the future of GT3? Does it need help now to keep it going further than the next 4-5 years? http://nasportscar.com/does-gt3-need-proactive-saving/

As long as there is money being being pumped into the GT3 class, costs will rise. Let's remember GT3 was a tier 2 or tier 3 series on the ladder when it begun. It was a support series. With GT1 going extinct and GT2 nearly there, GT3 was thrust into the spotlight as the premier class. Of course that will prompt the manufacturers to change the idea of which car to sell. A 911 GT3-R is sexier than a 911 GT3 Cup for a flagship series.

GT3 as far as global categopries go is in fairly rude health I would've thought?
No need to worry about it's future at the moment. If Ratel decided it needs to be pegged back a bit he will make sure it is but with so much manufacturer interest that could be tricky to please everyone. |

We're not looking at a full collapse or anything like that any time soon, but the trend in Europe is rather troubling and the cost of the cars is only going up. And sure, there are outside factors, especially in Europe, but when even Germany with its rather healthy economy has a hard time of putting together a 20-car grid there might be some reason for concern. |

Isn't the ADAC GT series 'self-capped' at 25 since a couple of years, trying to create some sort of completely unnecessary exclusivity?

I'd like to see a complete list of cars built between 2010 and now with their prices. From what I gathered, the prices are hardly going up, not by very much anyway. It just seems like the professionalism of the teams itself is going up, and that is what is costing a lot of money if you want to be competitive.

Very true. When people start talking about using Computational Fluid Dynamics to help with their refuelling such as in the article below (I believe it has already been posted in this thread) then you know costs other then the cars themselves are going up. http://sportscar365.com/gt/teams-voi...ing-gt3-costs/ |

Here is a great article on "Raceconomics" written by Gil De Ferran for RACER magazine back in January. I found it to be very insightful. http://www.racer.com/more/viewpoints...n-raceconomics |
