Best of Luck with your current challenges Gerald. I don't get easily offended, and you didn't succeed in offending me. No worries.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Gerard, hope life is a bit smoother for you in the near future and you can get through whatever your dealing with. Shame you won't be at Le Mans, I'll probably have the time and money to make the trip next year and am looking forward to meeting some of you guys face to face . Will be interesting to see the livery on the new LMP1, I really liked the livery on the 98 winning car and always wondered if it would make a return. Last edited by rich07; 13 Dec 2012 at 04:34. |

Speaking of which; I wonder if the 919 name will not be used for the LMP1.

How about the 911 P1-50 , for their anniversary ?
Their 1998 winner was a 911 Gt1-98 . |

Also - makes sense for the narrative, that all the hybrid tech developed and testing that they have done on the 918 road car would result in the 919 LMP1. This of course is just pure speculation. |

The GT1-98 didn't, that was the 1997 911 GT1.

It was amazing livery, but Warsteiner is a beer and France has now so strict alcohol advertising laws. So, I think pretty slim chance that is going to be their main sponsor.

I think the livery was more in reference to the Le Mans/ Mobil One they used.
About the 919 name, I like it. Porsche has really been playing up their heritage the past couple of years when it comes to racing and as Spyderman said, 919 would be a smart move. May it prove to be as strong as the 917 which is one of my all-time favorite cars. |

I bet the ELF Haberthur Racing GT2 livery from 1998 would prove quite popular.
