Or he could go to HRT, or JDR, or FPR, or SBR, what is your point?

well rumours about Thompson at GRM despite Garry denying it (just like he denied Canto was being deumped but still rumours persisted and it happened) still persit so it could happen he's a handy steerer and brings $$$. so if that happens and PWR can't sell their licence and have to front maybe Canto is a shot at the second seat, if not Canto at one of the big teams come PI and Bathurst is likely.

either:
PWR Racing
#20 - PWR - PWR/Hog's Breath - Dean Canto - VE Commodore
#50 - PWR - PWR/Hog's Breath - Paul Weel - VE Commodore

HRT
#1 - Tander/Skaife - VE Commodore
#2 - Seton/ Canto - VE Commodore

Sandown 500
Started - 17th
Finished - 12th

Bathurst 1000
Started - 8th

I believe it was in the recent issue of AMC that garry rogers mentioned money problems so perhaps it's just a move to bring in a pay driver.

I imagine someone would want Canto for the enduros, but hopefully he can pick up more drives than that.

If that's the case then this series is starting to show signs of mass decline.

The mass decline happened when Seton left the main game.

The shyte just keeps piling up.

No problems with any of that - I don't have a problem with Garry punting Dean at all. It's his team - he can do what he likes.

The problem is with the timing - surely Garry could have decided that he didn't want Dean some time ago, and given him a fair crack at finding something else...

Yes, no, yes mac

Yes - it is his team
No - Dean had a 3 year contract, to punt him in year 2 was wrong
Yes - the biggest problem with this was his timing, dosn't give Dean much of a change to find another ride this far into the new season. The right thing to do should have been to do it at end of the season, this is why I believe many here are calling bad form Gary.

IF Mr Owen brings in results along with Lee, this will end up beign a masterstroke.

But, being hamstrung with developing a VE and then having the better VE get handed to your teammate must surely take it's toll on performance....

Dean is a quick young lad, so here's hoping he eventually gets a third shot in the series. He deserves it!

(If not, could he get the funds to buy an Aston, 430 or Gallardo? He'd be a good thing for the GT's....)

Where does;

- the #22 at Perkins come from??

- the FRSR entry without the Thompson family paying (Caruso has said he's got no money) come from

- the pair of RNR licences come from, they're only just hanging on to their current licence at the moment!

- the SBR chassis at TKR come from, considering what SBR has said about it a week or so ago........

the sad thing is all this will just get sorted for round 1, and someone will post a 2009 driver/team/sponsor movement thread.....oh no wait, someone's going to jump in and get the '08 enduro driver thread going first

Maybe Dean should try the USA and leave V8's behind.

Saw on Wikipedia last week a bunch of 2008 enduro pairings appeared including Jimmie Johnson / Dale Earnhardt Jr in the #39 Commodore. It was so funny. Didn't last long though.

Racenut - seriously can you stop making stuff up of the top of your head and just use actual stuff that is being said or confirmed?

Back when FRSR was first linked with a PWR franchise people started asking about the driver and one or both of the mags ran a story with Michael Caruso saying no it's not me, I (and my sponsors) can't afford to pay for the franchise, thus implying the driver would be helping to pay for it.

Can anyone clarify what franchises are for sale?

Is it PWR (2), Walden, RNR (Team Dynamik/Longhurst Racing)?

Now that is a buyers market !!!!

Hello all, Hope everyone had a great xmas and wonderful New Years.

Anyway,

after just getting off the phone, I would anticipate that an announcement to be made this morning in regards to the new driver at GRM.

I would also say that it will shock a couple of people as well.

PS. Never count the chickens before the eggs have hatched.
