Big early crash in the opening moments at Lime Rock.
Magnus Racing out of the GT championship. Thought the comms were a bit quick to blame Stanaway in the Aston there. Okay he went wide but was back on line when Potter went into the side of him. What did everyone else think? Is anyone even watching? |

If there is a big crash at Lime Rock in a Grand-Am race and nobody is there to see it, did it happen?

Well, we have our championship winners! DP (Driver): Max Angelelli & Jordan Taylor DP (Team): Chip Ganassi Racing GT (Driver & Team): Alessandro Balzan, Scuderia Corsa GX (Driver & Team): Jim Norman, BGB Motorsports http://www.racer.com/uscc-ford-prepa...rticle/313861/ Some more information about the Ford Ecoboost engine and bodywork. It apparently is derived from the engine that ran in the Libra Racing LMP2 last year, and the main concern now is meeting the DP-regulation power and torque curves. Ford unlikely to add new customers other than MSR until the engine sees some real running. |

Why are they still going after power and torque curves?

I'm glad Grand am is done too. I did not watch the race at all, I couldn't care less. Don't let the lack of posts on this forum reflect interest though the GA fans probably post on the GARRA cog zone forum more than here I imagine.
With that said here were my likes and dislikes about GA in the past 2 years (because before that it was only dislikes): Likes: 1) Corvette DP, best looking DP car by far, looks more like a GT1 car than a prototype 2) that Ford will come with their own body work style (hope its good) Dislikes: 1) Riley DP generic chassis 2)that the GA GT class was so dumbed down to make sure that the precious DP cars would not have real GT cars on their backs. |

I've been watching Grand-Am a lot this year in preparation for next season.
It's been enjoyable racing if you just take it at face value. Lots of people letting their feelings cloud judgement. Really looking forward to USCC. |

A little interesting tidbit here, WTR completed all 2056 possible race laps this season. |

I was at Lime Rock Park for the races yesterday. I must say that I enjoyed both races thoroughly and had a great experience with the track's other festivities.
Both the GS and the Rolex races were very enjoyable. I was actually quite happy that Ganassi missed out on the title this year (it is about time someone else won it). Jordan Taylor's celebration at T1 was well deserved...quite a smoke show! To be quite honest, it was a bitter sweet moment walking out of the track at the end of the day. This being Grand-Am's last ever race as well as Lime Rock's last ever major sporting venue for the foreseeable future, I had mixed emotions. But the future is bright and perhaps the USCC can work a few series in the schedule for 2015 and on. |

CGR did win the championship over WTR. It's Pruett and Rojas that lost to Taylor and Angelelli.

Well I saw the race today re air on fs1, have been staying away from this thread since Friday so I wouldn't read any spoilers.was quite disappointed it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be, there was good racing through the field.but the championship race wasn't as close as I thought.i feel like it could have been closer if sarrazan would have moved over on both restarts, but either way Jordan Taylor has been dominating the field these last few races, will be interesting to see if that improves or worsens with the dp upgrades.good job to all!

Congratulations to all of the Grand-Am Rolex race and championship winners at Lime Rock this weekend.
Overall, it was a good race - despite what some of the trolls say. WTR beat seven DP's (still on the lead lap at the Lime Rock bullring) to the checkered flag and claimed the DP championship in decisive fashion. I also enjoyed watching Marsh get another GT win in the Corvette before moving on to a DP next year. The Scuderia Corsa Ferraris performed well by finishing second and third, and on the lead lap with the Whelen Corvette. Scuderia Corsa clearly demonstrated that they deserved to win the GT championship as much as Magnus, Stevenson, Turner and the other teams. It's unfortunate that the incident between Spirit of Daytona and Park Place near the end of the race also took out the Gainsco car and resulted in a full-course caution. My hope is that as many current Grand-Am teams, drivers and sponsors as possible compete in the USCC next year. Andy Flinn Last edited by ACFlinn; 30 Sep 2013 at 01:00. |

Obviously, GX was never the "Mazda class championship."
Congratulations to Jim Norman, BGB Motorsports and Porsche. Andy Flinn Last edited by ACFlinn; 30 Sep 2013 at 00:54. |

I never understood all the hate towards Grand Am. Personally, I enjoyed the ALMS and Grand Am both. One for great tech advances, the other for close racing. And I didn't mind that there were over 20 races between the two series each season.
Next year's dozen USCR races better be good, or all we've accomplished is a 50% drop in race options over the course of the season. |
