Yeah, I think a couple of them have been updated but it's still a bit outclassed. Truth be told, it was never a great GT3 car and has mostly benefited from the good Doctors political machinations.

As far as the Z4 GT3's performance, it seems to win enough for 'outclassed' to not be a term I'd associate with it.

The Audi has no way had its day... You don't follow the Blancpain Endurance Series?? WRT & Vanthoor just wrapped that title up! And the Phoenix Audi achieved the fastest lap around the Ring this year in the VLN series.

It's still a seriously fast GT3 car in the right hands

I wouldn't quite call it 'outclassed', but at the end of the day the Z4 has been a bit of a flawed design, relying heavily on downforce and cornering speed, at a time when it became clear that the high power/sledgehammer approach is the way to go in GT3. IIRC it has never won one of the major enduros or an important series title. Came close a few times, but never really managed to seal the deal.

2011 GT300 championship and heavy odds on favourite for 2014 (1-2 going into the final race). Would have won the 2013 championship despite awful JAF/FIA equivalency for most of the season if not for a flukey DQ, (airbox failure causing them to fail the stall test) even with skipping the partial points AsLMS race.
2014 IMSA GTD

Won the Suzuka 1000km (that was a third team besides the ones leading the points, by the way) and Watkins Glen 6 Hours this year.

Well, in 2011 GT300 had a very limited number of GT3 cars putting it mostly against high downforce cars but it's still been a very effective car in that series despite a quarter of the schedule or more being at Fuji, which should allegedly be a terrible track for it.

Awesome news and it's great to see them bringing out 2 cars which will no doubt have world class drivers in both. And to think that we had people on here carrying on that there wasn't a lot of International interest/entries and that there weren't many manufacturers involved and that's probably why they have been quiet of late
