When you are watching on the weekend. Get out a laptop and get the live timing, It is on the Supercar site. Watch the race and read the timing. When you get use to it you may find you are reading more of the data than watching the TV. Trust me, it opens up a much bigger world. When all the boring **** is happening, you can see all the gaps changing through the whole field. Sector times, where guys are faster at different points of the track... You will start to see the tyre deg and fuel burn in the timing. If you get the real fancy timing with all the micro sectors, don't starter with that. Too confusing, turn your head inside out, off to bed for a lay down before halfway. Have to have it for the last hour. Maybe you already do?

Fast forward a few decades and the technology has moved on, and you are dead right - watching the live timing you are regularly way ahead of the commentators in picking what is happening. Live timing on the computer, broadcast on the TV, I spend more time watching the computer than the TV, really only watch for the replays. |

So with tyres seemingly lasting only 16 laps will we see 10 Tyre stops?
They have 13 sets for the weekend! |

However it goes, we are heading into what feels like one of the least predictable Bathurst races in quite some time. |

Really enjoyed that shootout. These cars look great around the mountain, moving around more & all that. Roll in the race!

Very nice lap from Mr Kostecki.. 0.5s almost is mega!
It will be a loooooong day tomorrow for some of the cars that don’t look particularly wonderful on track.. |

The Chev teams that don't get it right and have a bad day tomorrow, will just have to put a hand up and say, we were not good enough today. The other group already have the excuse ready to go. Nice to see Tander was already getting warmed up on Thursday, for someone who drove one stint before his wheel departed, he seems to know all the in's and out's of both packages without driving a Camaro. By the sounds of it the Camaro's may do the whole race tomorrow on one set of tyres, as the Camaro doesn't seem to suffer tyre deg. Tander's comments on the Camaro's running very heavy Thursday was also interesting, someone must have forgotten to tell the Chev teams to empty their tanks before qualifying. Wait and see.

Damn that was an electrifying shootout.
Can't believe Payne ended up so far down, so many good laps from so many guys, and few errors. Really enjoyed Payne and Feeney delivering under pressure, but Brodie's lap was otherworldly. People have referred to him in eSports circles as an alien. |

Maybe 888 picked the wrong Erebus pilot for 2024…

Mr Lowndes, 30th start at Bathurst.
Bet JB still has nightmares about that 94 race, and CL move on him. |

Utter parity farce.
The data-driven changes were there to fit to make for a tight, even, exciting race. And they were rejected in favour of Camaros driving 10 seconds off into the distance. Utterly absurd. |
