So if BMS run Porsches in GT2 (if they do) wouldnt that upset Aston Martin because isnt BMS the works team for Aston Martin in FIA GT or because they are in different classes wouldnt it matter?

You can use different team names:
'AMR BMS Scuderia Italia' and 'Porsche BMS Scuderia Italia' Like BMS-Care Racing, and Freisinger years ago |

Is this a mere rumour or more towards factual? Be nice to know if the car is for FIA GT or not (be good to see one in LMS, too, if there's any room for it) |

I don't see why not.
Well if the GT1 standard is supposed to have dropped, with less competitive Astons and then a well run Lambo with a couple of decent pedallers could actually be a strong proposition couldn't it? |

All the answers that there are to have from SRO at the moment are in a three part interview with Stephane Ratel on dsc yesterday and today.

This may have been covered, but Chris Niarchos will be driving one of the Ferraris in FIA GT. I think he's with Tim Mullen, with whom he took BGT title, but I can't confirm that, just the Niarchos drive.

Niarchos and Mullen will be interesting but not a sure fire winner. Mullen is quick enough so he will put it at the front of the grid then Niarchos will do his 40 minutes and drop it back so Mullen will have to come from behind. It depends on the second drivers in the other cars but is very much a pro/am entry that may be up against a pro/pro pairing. Has anyone seen a definition of the required 2 pit stops
Scuderia Ecosse will be on Michelin and AF Corse will be on Pirelli so SE have the edge there and BMS Porsche will be on Pirelli, that puts them on the back foot even with Collard and whichever paying Italian. Opportunity for a Michelin shod Porsche /Ferrari with two pro's if anyone knows a likely team able, unlike the rest, to do a no-compromise season |

3th Lambo could be. I thought Reiters anounced that they updated the car. Like the LM 2006 Lambo, with new body parts and lower rear-end...

LOL at Niarchos bringing the Mullen down
CN has tipped Hines & Kimber-Smith to be 'a revelation in sportscar racing' and thinks if they run in FIA next year, and the panoz holds together, and it rains enough for them, they could be the surprise package.. |

Being an old geezer not sure what LOL means, lots of laughs? Sorry if I offend, I am not knocking Mr Niarchos at all he is the sort of guy we need in the sport, massive input overall but the FIA is a top line pro series and if you compare lap times over a stint you will see what I mean. Get the figures from the MST PDF for the races he did in the FIA last year and I think you will see the difference.

My LOL was in agreement with your CN point Old Man Sorrry it didn't read the same as it sounded in my head . Problem with motorsport being so expensive to participate in europe, with no prize money, the natural course of cream rising to the top in talent stakes gets thrown out of the window and it's just the ones with money that get the opportunity.

Bit off thread ChrisD but you are quite right, a driver with tallent and no money has a hard time but some do make it, Tim Mullen is one of them, Manu Collard is another, Ortelli, Kirkaldi, Cunningham, Hughes, Sugden, you can name a few but they have to be dedicated and very hard working tough cookies who deserve more recognition than they get. Others with family money get more publicity sometimes but perhaps we should leave it there and stick to the theme!

Looks like a longer warmup for FIA GT in the morning now
Not too sure about GT3 coming after the main race though - I thought the way they ran that last year was better. Was a better build up to the main event. |
