I don't think he is planning on running the truck... Not quite sure, he's meant to be in the #59 busch car for the whole season and the best places to go are www.nascar.com or www.marcosambrose.com

The site is slow.
Best place to follow the series in general is Nascar.com, as they give some good race recaps, and if you combine that with this thread, you should be covered. |

Thanks guys....
So obviously they have started the busch series already. But ambrose first race is this weekend (about now) at Daytona right? So Marcos is sharing the #59 with another driver? |

Nah the busch series hasn't started yet. Only done testing at Daytona and Las Vegas so far. The first race for the busch series is this weekend at Daytona, and Marcos is meant to do the full season in the #59.

Then again, with SpeedTV, That's Racin', Jayski and Racing Reference it's not like you need NASCAR.com anyway. |

The Ambrose Thread
From www.marcosambrose.com
SECOND STRAIGHT TOP TEN ON SENSATIONAL DAY FOR AMBROSE IN LAS VEGAS Marcos Ambrose has again shown his class by earning a second-consecutive top 10 finish in the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series in the Sam’s Town 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nevada today. Ambrose was 10th in the #59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion, finishing as the top rookie and the second-highest non-Nextel Cup driver. The next best rookie was Juan Pablo Montoya in 20th position, four laps down. The Australian maintains his fifth position in the NASCAR Busch Series points and his lead in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings. “I’m really rapt with today,” said Ambrose. “It was a really long day out there and I couldn’t have asked for a better finish. “This is a big day for me. “I said to the guys in the middle of the race when we had a set of tyres that were not quite right that we would have to wait it out until we could get another set on and then see what we could do. “It was a really tough race. The tyres were hard and the track was greasy. If you could run well in any groove you just had to run with it. “In the middle part of the race we had a set of tyres that weren’t right. I was just hanging on trying to keep it straight and when it eventually did spin I somehow managed to keep it of the fence. “We’ve got a pretty good package and some good momentum at the moment and we are going to be working very hard at keeping it going in the right direction." I'm thrilled that things are going so well for Ambrose, and I can't wait to see him take on the big boys when the Cup Series hits the road courses.

It's only been 10 minutes, but it's like Marcos Ambrose TV!!! First they yabber about him in the pre-race intro, then they go and talk to him at the driver introductions and then they yabber about him leading rookie points.
....Naw, I love it. |

The JPM/Ambrose battle is tightening up.
I'm looking forward to an Ambrose resurge now that Juan is breathing down his neck. |

As with JPM in Cup, it's good to see Ambrose doing so well in Busch... it's certainly creating a bit more international interest. My flatmate wasn't too interested in the NASCAR while I was watching it in previous years as "all the drivers were the same - all teeth, shades and product placement." Having drivers that non-Americans have seen race before come and join in raises the interest as the inclusion of those two has my flatmate watching as well now. Even my family (F1-only people) have taken a bit more interest now that JPM is over there.
Shame Mickel vanished from trucks, would have been good to have a Brit running again. |

His deal with MB Motorsports didn't come off by the looks of it. I'll know more Easter weekend when I see him.

I have a feeling Marcos might be put in the #21 come the road courses (and that he won't race any other events than them in cup) to try and get the #21 into the top 35, I think they're pretty far out now though.

You'd have to think so. Pruett, Montoya et al all run at the front on the road courses, and Marcos can (almost) run with them.
It'll be great. I hope he adjusts to jumping between the COT and The COY. |

Good run by Marcos today backing up qualifying 3rd with a 6th place finish. It's a shame he couldn't get past Kenseth and get a top 5. Is he still doing the cup road courses? Did he test at VIR?
