D'Alberto had to run with Hertz instead of Bottle-O on his car in Bahrain 2008...

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
actually recent history suggest that's Will your talking about or Garth or Lowndes

just basing that on the last 5 rounds (which i choose because thats what comes up on the championship points score from the v8 site)

I know, especially when someone is saying he crashes every 2nd race and suddenly the facts show they may not be right and he crashes about the same as every other driver

I'm sorry you missed the sarcasticness of my comment. No, he doesn't have a ratio of crash, not crash, crash, not crash. He crashes alot, and more than most of the other drivers, including rookies! Just look at the 2 that drive for his old team, sure they've had a few, but they are getting better, JC is still at the same level.

The drivers are about to be on the Ch7 news with a report from the Middle East.

But reasonable and stealthy don't go together in the same sentence lately.

Not at all, i thought you just got the wrong thread since both rounds talk about reverting to the F1 track now (before the V8s were using a shortened version of this track....)

I'm quite reasonable.

One would assume, with so many of the cars being shown off with covered headlights, that they will light the track so brightly at Abu Dhabi that the drivers won't need to switch their lights on

A real shame, takes the challenge out of night driving. You don't see them do it at Le Mans or Spa...

Given F1 don't have lights Racer it is safe to assume that headlights are only a "get out of my way" option.

The point i was making is that there is no need to light it like an F1 race, they could dim them, leave few off etc

Light up the straights, make the braking zones and turns dark, that should throw a few challenges into the mix.

Problem with relying on headlights for vision is that sponsors logos can't be seen as well. Sure you get the effect of glowing brake discs, but based on the previous night races in the 90s didn't make particularly great television.

For the fans apparently, more like taking the fans for granted. Hard core fans will make the effort, just like those who follow F1 do.

To watch the race without knowing the result, you have to avoid tv news, radio and online media sometimes not always practical. Might be only be 7 hours behind in WA, but if a 3am start as indicated even with a 12pm telecast start will be 9 hours behind in the eastern states.
