Yeah but how many will make it to the end of the race? Reliability last year was fairly poor.

So many drivers have race-by-race deals, and plans can and do change. Take the published entry list as a rough approximation on who will actually turn up. |

Even with three races and qual they're on track for less time than last season with 2 races qual and practice. |

19 car grid - a decent turnout.
Decent job by the TCR folk - only disappointment being a couple of BTCC dropouts not opting for the series. |

Its good to have a gen 1 class imo, adds to the grid and the cars are not out of place.

I don't think the lack of newer cars is too big an issue. I think it reflects how TCR UK has found where it fits in in the market - a club series with a few semi-professional entries. Yes, its a step down from the last couple of years, but factoring in economics and drivers moving on, it is ok. Its also an enormous improvement on the grids from 2018-2021.
I do however find it a shame that "Gen 2" cars like the Audi RS 3 LMS Gen II (of which we had 5 at some rounds last year, and just 1 this year) as well as a lot of the Hyundai contingent haven't returned. Applying the same "Gen 2" and "Gen 1" criteria as this season - here are the numbers for 2023. 2023 Rd. 1 - 24 cars (19 Gen 2; 5 Gen 1) 2023 Rd. 2 - 20 cars (16 Gen 2; 4 Gen 1) 2023 Rd. 3 - 22 cars (17 Gen 2; 5 Gen 1) 2023 Rd. 4 [Knockhill] - 17 cars (15 Gen 2; 2 Gen 1) 2023 Rd. 5 - 21 cars (16 Gen 2; 5 Gen 1) 2023 Rd. 6 - 21 cars (17 Gen 2; 4 Gen 1) 2023 Rd. 7 - 21 cars (15 Gen 2; 6 Gen 1) 2023 Average - 20.8 cars (16.4 Gen 2; 4.4 Gen 1) 2023 Average (removing the unrepresentative Knockhill round) - 21.5 cars (16.7 Gen 2; 4.8 Gen 1) 2024 Rd. 1 - 19 cars (11 Gen 2; 8 Gen 1) Therefore, compared to last year's average grid size, TCR UK has lost 5-6 "Gen 2" cars and gained 3-4 "Gen 1" entries. The lost "Gen 2" cars comes from the economic situation, drivers who historically struggle for budget struggling again, and a couple of drivers have moved to different series. The gained "Gen 1" cars predominantly come from amateur/club racers who now have a dedicated trophy to race for and can race against people of a similar ability. |

I'm not sure how it appeared on the livestream but, trackside, that was a good race today.
Carl Boardley had a good moan about the Lynx & Co in his post-race (circuit comms) interview... |

Yeah the racing was great yesterday, better than anything the BTCC has offered up for a few years.

It was more what Boardley didn't say, by kind of saying he had damage at the front and back of the car and that the car in front was big.
DW chose not to run because of the tyre rule change. Didn't seem very happy in the paddock, didn't fancy asking him! |

Does TCR UK post the weekend schedules anywhere? I can't find the usual web or PDF style schedules for what time to actually watch races.

You can find the timetable via the BRSCC website, as they are organising the overarching event:

They posted this back on the 2nd May...
I guess this was the day that the timetable was sent out by the BRSCC? https://www.facebook.com/tcrukseries...u4NPpvqXJtk7xl |

I can't see that being the grid. Jones isn't racing until Silverstone I think? Thurston posted this week that his FK7 will be ready later on, Oulton IIRC.
TCR posted 19 names last time and 14 ran, I wonder how many of these are not going to be there? |

Take those three out the equation and the grid would be 14. Also interesting to see Jeff Alden listed as racing an Audi RS 3 LMS TCR SEQ rather than the Opel Astra. |
