wonder if some annonomous person gave Tony equal $$$ to have his race at EC would backflip on his "never going back there" as the crowd is crapola, EC mightn't get the greatest crowd but my god it gets a fair sight more then Bahrain.

Re the crowd, or lack thereof. Isn't the point of this race perhaps to demonstrate via TV that the package can be sent to any part of the globe and therefore could represent the next incarnation of WTCC?
Apart from F1 which is perceptably dripping with cash you won't get the middle easterners to go near motor sport, simply because they all own cars and most of them are Mercs etc. so a racing car is cheap for them. It's all about money not sport. Hence the turnout yesterday was pretty good under the circs. The fact that the tickets cost next to nothing means that the immigrant workers can go along and it looks like the government is doing something for them. |

Not sure I'd want to fork out my shekels for a seat in a grandstand though.
Can't beat a fold-up chair at the flip flop at Oran Park. Or a picnic rug out at Siberia at PI. Or in the shade of a gum tree at McPhillamy. Or even under the palms at Hidden Valley. Seems to me that there is nowhere else to sit at Bahrain other than the stands. No offence to you grandstand lovers <looks at peckstar> but that's not how I want to watch motor racing... |

Also when the grandstand faces the pit lane that is a big no no, especially with v8 races.
I mean apart from Adelaide, Surfers, Hamilton, Phillip Island, Bathurst, Eastern Creek etc. Last edited by D.R.T.; 10 Nov 2008 at 02:47. |

The only thing that spoils the circuit is the first corner, why they didn't make it a sweeping right hander that lead's onto the next straight, to save all the carnage that occurs now!

It was a bit difficult to get any reasonable pics but I played about with paintshop and came up with these.
