SCG has gone back out. Hope they can get some data on a long run here.

Interesting point by McNish regarding serviceability. Is it on the level of other prototypes? Sauber's expertise in aero may be second to none, but they haven't had to design a car that accommodates 5-minute gearbox changes and so on.

If I was a pit reporter, I'd challenge myself right now to find a single driver happy with the tyres

Bit more of a gain for Alpine, but still not enough.
8 doing slightly better on fuel. |

Very rough math. About 4 hours in and Alpine has a 21s lead. At that pace they would have a 42s advantage on pace/stop length by the end of the race.
Apart from needing one (?) extra stop. And they are just coming in and will have to make that extra stop pretty much within this stint for Toyota. |

Have you seen the close up of that tyre? The blistering was so bad it became grooved. I don't remember ever seeing anything like that.
I missed which car it came from. I think that was a black BBS wheel. |

That was extraordinary. That was a huge deep channel, like a gouge all the way around the tyre. McNish said it was where the blisters had burst…

Porsche got their tyres to go the job in Q, but it’s too much in the race.
I know Ferrari said that it was struggling too, but not as much as the Porsche which is now a lap down. |

Is it just unusual conditions that are causing this? I don't seem to remember hearing about this with GTE tires in the past.

Seems it is a combination of the circuit, high speed loads, new track surface and higher temperatures compared to when some of these teams are used to racing at this circuit. And they just chose the wrong tyres. Some teams have an option of some tyres that are designed for higher temps and these are better.

Have both Jota cars been extending their fuel stops? There's going to be a decent three/four-way fight in LMP2.
And in Hypercar, the #7 demolished the pit lane speed limit board! |

Glick just set cars fastest lap of the race. Good to see they are chipping away at the pace.

Glickenhaus had a near fault free 30 hour test? Then comes here and has numerous issues, weird.

Can someone explain what’s happened for the past two hours, as if I were some kind of England football fan?
