Stolen from the BTCC topic, but looks like Carl Boardley could be entering TCR. I think this is a Leon wheel

What can TCR UK do to get all the numerous TCR cars in club racing to step into to the main championship? Theres got to be 30-40 floating aroung in enduro or regional championships in Britain now. Mostly Golfs and Cupras but a few 308s too.

I asked a guy with a TCR car who races [with 750 I think] about it and he said they charge over £2000 to register for the season, and £2250 per race weekend with TCR - he can enter for a 750 season for less than a single TCR weekend. And the prices for damage. Not as bad as BTCC, but still rougher than club racing, and to be competitive you really have to abuse kerbs in TCR which shortens component lives. He was also brutally honest that he has a performance advantage in clubbies, but would be off the pace in a TCR UK race. On top of that, with all these new cars turning up the old ones will be off the pace soon, even with BOP. |

I've been meaning to post this for a while as it sort of bugs me.
I believe the plan is for Kerry to race at the first round (Snetterton) to see how he gets on before committing to more, rather than a definite one round only. The press release was a bit vague on details and that seems to have got lost when the story was posted elsewhere. Maybe show him and Luke Sargeant as partial season entries |

I'm at GT Cup today, one of the mechanics I know said the Tonks thing was because the sponsors were meant to pay for Jess Hawkins to run in a second Elantra, and part sponsor Tonks for this season. They pushed for the reveal at Autosport before he had full funding, then they decided to back her in Britcar instead leaving him and the team up the creek.

strike Neil Trotter, he's just announced he's quitting motorsport on his Facebok. Copied verbatim, make of it what you will.
----- Neil Trotter · I’ve made the difficult decision to retire from racing with immediate affect, I’ve burned myself out trying to do everything myself. The constant sniping at me from other drivers, teams is nothing short of bullying and I know this is going to end in fighting at a meeting. I poured money into TCR UK as I had had enough of watching people cheating in other championships and believe tcr can be policed properly. All I wanted to do was go racing but it seems some people want to fight me and cause aggravation purely just jealousy. I’ve been ripped off by just about every championship I’ve been in, petrol tank ****ed in and rad cap loosened just to mention a few. I was taken out in every race at brands hatch last year by the same driver and he took me to the clerk of the course to say it was my fault. Obviously this was thrown out but he got away unpunished and now is joining forces with other jealous people. Obviously if I was a I’d have the MSUK on my side. My car, van, camper, trailers, lorry and over £100k of spares are up for grabs. Thanks to everyone who supported me you kept me going this long! |

Oh dear, sounds very messy… is he integral to or separate from Chameleon Motorsport i.e. Lewis Brown’s entry?
So -2 (Trotter & Tonks) from the entry list makes 19 at the moment? With media day on Tuesday, presumably we’ll get a bit closer to the 25 reported? |

Not being funny, but can't really remember much of what Trotter was doing last season. No disrespect, but was watching the front. Who kept barging him off?

Having had a look, can't see anything on the Youtube streams of two races that are there, and the lap charts show him running close to Matthew Wilson and Scott Sumpton in race one and two, and he's not listed in the tird Brands race.
Bit of a puzzle to me. |

Interesting thing is Tonks hasn't said he's out yet, and neither has Lewis, whose car is up for sale.

Perhaps he (or someone else) has made a bid for the Elantra for a late switch?
Bit concerning to see three drivers drop out before the season starts if not. With no Lewis Kent and presumably no Isaac Smith either, Smiley could have it quite easy this year. |

The Lewis Audi has been listed on the site since October, it was added on 18/10/2022 Months before he announced his entry and the Tonks entry was announced and the Elantra up for sale So being listed for sale due to a late switch of car would seem odd We will find out next week its media day and im sure they will be a entry list Maybe it was up for sale cos he wanted a newer model or something and was doing to to use the money from the sale to upgrade and it never got sold. maybe it has just never been delisted or something We will find out next week, its media day. Sure there will be a entry list published |

From what was said in past Lewis Kent taking a back seat this year and not driving
Isaac smith has been testing a Audi this week at Barcelona with a view to a season in TCR Europe Like it’s been said Tonks car up for sale but nothing to say he won’t be in series this year |

I’d expect Smiley, Winfield, Ley, Brad Kent and Constable to be the front runners this year from who’s confirmed |
