Plus gentlemen drivers funding most of a GTD car has to be a better bang for the buck with more cars. And GTP taking up a ton of that funding too

Lambo single car NAEC only is a bit of a head-scratcher given it was assumed they'd prioritise IMSA. Maybe they have a second car at Daytona but they're still in bare minimum territory.

Corvette GTP is redundant with Cadillac (another GM brand) in the class unless GM wants to replace Cadillac with Chevrolet to run a Corvette branded GTP car.

Or the mention in s365 Thursday Notebook
**Further details on the Genesis LMDh program have yet to be confirmed, including its choice of team for the GTP class. Sportscar365 believes that a championship-winning GT organization has emerged as a possible candidate alongside Chip Ganassi Racing and Bryan Herta Autosport. https://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/r...y-notebook-12/ |

Well looks like we will have LMP2s around a bit longer, homologation extended through 27. And Hypercar through 29 from the FIA meeting today

More cross-series driving; looks like the manufacturers have decided that more seat time is key to performance and consistency.
Again, strong lineups all-round. Understandably, Hartley can't do more than Daytona, but Stevens is a known quantity and should fit in well with the #10 crew. However, Lynn in the #40 is an incredibly strong lineup for the endurance races, easily on-par with either of Porsche's endurance lineups. Bamber in IMSA is probably the right call, and Aitken makes a formidable pair - they'll be quick if nothing else. Interesting that, if Bamber is announced at Jota as expected, IMSA takes priority over WEC for the Spa/Laguna Seca clash, especially given how important Spa is as a warmup to Le Mans. |

A lot of money saving going on here it seems, utilising drivers across several series to save on a third and the like, makes some sense, but also thins out the driving field.
Don't rate Bamber at all I'm afraid, cost his team in EC numerous results with over aggressive driving and poor judgement,m I know it is a tough gig, but others can manage it, clearly Caddy feel the same dropping him from a potential WEC title to favour IMSA, |

My understanding from the articles is that Bamber will do both IMSA and WEC (with Jota) - question is will IMSA take precedence when there are clashes or WEC and there is also the question of le mans if he does both series? Not an issue if AXR does not go to le mans though

I think it has been stated that IMSA takes priority for Bamber, hence a sort of move to IMSA from WEC, where he will likely be a 3rd driver at times.

AXR didn't win the championship so didn't earn an auto invite courtesy of IMSA's 3 (the P2 & GTD Am's being the other 2). AXR will have to get invited by the ACO and with heavy demand for entry spots it might not be a foregone conclusion they will get one (although you'd think the more HY entries, the merrier?) and preparations might be a bit more challenging due to a later possible confirmation as result of the selection process. On that same note, Penske Porsche will have an auto invite for a 3rd entry at LM. Expect them to pick it up. |

Ze Germans are coming
https://sportscar365.com/imsa/iwsc/b...-for-rolex-24/ Like the livery, get in the enduros and I'll buy some merch and a flag. But it sounds like just Rolex now And shake up at GM, and the usual numbnut comments of Bring Back Doug, because they won't understand Fehan was PrattMiller guy not GM management https://sportscar365.com/lemans/wec/...rsports-roles/ Corvette program manager moving up and new folks involved with program on the sidelines moving to manager positions in house. The GM shake - up is interesting. Some corporations like to move management around to different areas every few years or so and this could be part of such scheme. Whilst in Motorsport this has not always been beneficial, Laura's role was not like a typical Team Manager, she was the go to person between the teams running the cars and GM (AXR, CGR, and now WTR and Jota have their own management structure)
It could also be that the traveling is taking a toll, and some might prefer to not travel as much and be closer to home more often hence he move to other areas. I imagine this decision was not based on performance. Laura will be missed in the paddock, always gave great interviews and showed great enthusiasm for the sport. |

Both short stints indeed, but we don't know the real reason.
