are we again into rude talking ? your mentioned cheating was found and punished, here in Asia as well as in Europe and by now even here the Team watching carefully what is going on and requesting action from the Scrutineers. That the ex-FBMW is a Maintenance free car is a fairy tale par Excellence. if you want to be competitive you have to do a lot of work as with any Race car. if the renamed series is so bad, why is interest from Drivers so high? there is no other car to learn racing in its basic form. all other Formulas have paddle shift, high torque engines, big brakes and sticky tyres, what you learn from these ? the boys out of these comfort series very quickly loose their Illusions when they come to hardcore racing and find themselve on the back of the Grid. or they must do more season at very high cost to learn again. just compare how many driver from ex-FBMW gone to the Top and how many that started with higher series straight away made it? so please before open mouth, switch on brain ! Happy chinese new Year to everyone |

well...engbmw....keep your shirt on before losing it! Speedkills has some valid points...one of them is that really there is not as of today...a series...yes I know..lots of words and promises!
Prices...another good point there...FBMW tried to curb it to E140,000 or so...now the entry fee, tire prices, unlimited testing...all is climbing, so I heard. Scrutineering...let's see who is doing it and what.... and so on! To combat all the bad rumours about this series the organizers should have come out in late 2010 announcing a prov. calendar; make real statements with some beef on it and not camouflage their names here...like we, the rest of us, all do! So let's recap - to be fair to all, including the teams sticking with the new series; As far as I know - the final series announcement; the new regulations; the new and old personnel for admin and technical; And the FINAL version of race dates. All will be announced this week - so also said sequentialbox ! Today - it's Friday in Asia and Chinese New Year celebration - don't think it will happen. All teams are still with the F Pacific? Heard 2 had to go - ran out of money and time! But there are still 5 more teams - big ones too! Atlantic - not sure why they announced their driver - must have some pressure from Bernie of Asia to do some "good"! |

from Monday 7th there will be 3 Testdays at Sepang.
so lets have a look who is there and who is driving what car. if a Team quits they will not Test anymore, or just go for the money, maybe. hopefully all speculations come to end after these Test days ! |

Team and Driver count - can't be done yet?

EuroInternational, ART, AOS, Alla Fonte, DAMS, Motaworld.... 6 teams were not there....and all I said was that 2 teams have been quitting...I was wrong, sorry! I certainly hope this is NOT an indicator..as many teams also cannot test for their timing or the driver's financial/personal reasons! Tests in Asia do not indicate the interest level full time series drivers; it means that many teams have a cash flow source to bring them over the dull season. Regardless of how little they may charge - there is cash coming in! And herein starts the problem.... How many of the February drivers tested and will sign for the season? When teams think that to be on the top of the time sheets equate to filling their season seats....then yes...they are right by "hiring" drivers from other series to drive their cars in testing and making the real serious junior driving contenders look like fools on the bottom of the time sheets. Can somebody shine their light on who was driving for whom and if these driver(s) have (are) signing for the season? It becomes more and more apparent to me that this, and not only the Asian Motorsport society, is like a seriously dysfunctional family as otherwise...why would teams financially ruin themselves slowly and taking other teams down too by giving away test drives for a song rather than charging a fair and appropriate fee? We all are "Professionals" like Lawyers and Doctors....none of them giving away their services below their actual incurred costs! But the teams do it...not once but continuous and then complaining not having money to survive (and giving away more rides below cost to get cash flow, again!). |

Ha....good one! Yes, the name selection is somewhat poor. Seems that there were many egos at work to please themselves first and then see how the teams can sell it to drivers and their sponsors. But in typical style...who gives a damn about that?
On the positive side of things - there is a definite and definable open wheel series now for sure. Turbans etc....welcome to Asia..one has to live with it or better go home, wherever that might be. Nothing to do with racing! Bet you that all drivers would like to be in the car owned by "Force India"! |

Eurasia was consistently at the top of the time sheets but not with Duvashen / Natasha but with Jap drivers. Are they entering the series too? Anorther team that impress was ImRacing with consistent top 5 placing throughout the sessions. Not bad for a young team. Nice new livery color too. Anyone any idea what happened to Mofaz's new sister team? So much speculation but not seen? Anorther driver to watch is Akash from India-Meritus, pretty quick.

G'day! The Alla Fonte boys did their best but Mofaz operator released them to Formula Abarth China. The speculation will end on its own when the truth comes out.
Legendary Meritus racing deemed too quiet. Akash Gouda is fruit of relationship between "The Thief" and Armaan Ebrahim's Papa. They say India raids funds to save Meritus. |
