Derwent is heading for a stewards' enquiry!
Nostalgia is often about about something we were not actually present at. At the weekend we went to the Bomber Command Museum at Lincoln - incredibly moving but some years before my time. We were then guests at the World Karting Championships down the road at PFI. - 255 drivers from 56 countries all hoping to follow in Lando Norris's wheel tracks. Basically 255 multi millionaire's living their dream through their kids.
As racing at Goodwood stopped in 1966. Anyone who was an adult then must be in in their 70s. While I never went to Goodwood, my parents took us to all sorts of racing in the 50s and 60s. So the thousands who now go to the Revival go for the accassion and if they are enthusiasts because the racing is actually better than you will get at a typcal current meeting in the UK

If only! I first went to Goodwood in 1952 aged 15, I think it has changed a little bit since then, as have I

I saw Aston Martin win the first Nine Hour Race.

I saw Jack Brabham in his first race in England.

Mike Hawthorn overturn his BRM at Fordwater.

To quote Delta - Happy Days.
