gttouring should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I always liked the Panoz efforts be it the LMPGtR. Or the GT2 car always a delight on track and a good scrapp from them I hope the Abruzzi is mustard no eason it shouldn't be. In race trim it should look wicked

So, outside of Porsche, Ferrari, BMW and Corvette, it's one of the most successful GT cars out there. So, it's better than what, the GT40 and Jag? So, about 5th out of 7 cars? Maybe we can include the non-existant lexus program, that puts it in the top half, right?

And hey, since all they're doing is rebodying that same 5-6 year old car that had success in 2005 and 2006, this means the "abruzzi" will be a success, right?

It certainly looks different (its a Panoz for petes sake) but the racecar looks a lot better then the concept unveiled at Le Mans. Hopefully a European team runs one or two next year, would be fantastic to see the car on both sides of the Atlantic.

I just hope they sort out the problems with the cloaking device lol

I will agree and disagree with you there! I did like the race prepped chassis in person, but the road car was still made me look away!

I think from the front end, the car looks better, almost pretty good. A good paint job certainly helps.

The back end though.... still awkward proportions at best.

Honestly, the thing looks like they took a refreshed GTR1 front end and mashed it onto the back half of some coachwork for an early 30s American two-door sedan with that wide, long rounded convex tail section.

Fogelhund, I take it you're not convinced that James and Leuenberger are a match for Brabham and Bourdais?!

It was said to me, that the Don wanted the back end to look like a early 30's Delahaye.

Target acquired and achieved!

Don't really know why he wanted that of course, given that the back of a Delahaye looks a lot better when attached to the front of one...

I didn't look close enough at the track, but why does the Abruzzi have a large scoop on the roof that looks like it will slow it down considerably?

That/Those "front wings" are going to give it great possibility for adjusting Aero, optimizing performance at all tracks.
But i like it way better in race trim.

did it do any times?

Sad, but it's probably nothing more than a "demo car", without the race spec chassis and engine.
But with the right budget (same as Corvette, Ferrari, Porsche and BMW) i think this will be fast!

The roadcar was the same car shown at Le Mans. Only visible change was the larger carbon air scoop cover on the roof. That wasn't there at Le Mans. One suspects, with my limited aerodynamic knowlege, not enough air was being sucked in as the roof drops away at that point and the boundary layer and turbulence will stop 'clean air' going into the scoop. I noticed the racecar had that too.

I still dont know what the front air intakes do, given the radiator is rear mounted. I wish I went over and had a closer look at the racecar now.

At least the Jag looks nice(ish). This thing is gonna have to FLY because it sure isn't pretty. I can allow the looks on the race car though as it's a race car and it's allowed to be as bonkers as it wants, as long as it's functional.

It's very ugly imo, but another car on the grid is always good. What is it running under the hood?

The road car has the LS9 from the Corvette ZR1, don't know exactly what iteration of that motor will be in the race car though.
