TinTopGrumpy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I don't think he needed to give the place back but for sure he needed to do something to reduce the gap, that was a bit naive of him. Chicanes are always trick as Jade said. On a single corner with the overlap he had on the inside it would look very different.

Not sure he handled that interview too well either…

Anyway, last time this happened at Donington last year he drove like a madman and won, so perhaps he’ll make up for it now.

So nice to see good old Ash again, missed seeing him win
What a weekend for Cammish though, superb pace and 3 out of 3 on the podium. Great to see that.

Any idea what happened with Halstead? That's one severely damaged Hyundai.

And that was even more blatant than the one in r2!

Turkington certainly won't give in so easily but yeah, unfortunately looks like he's back where he was last year while Hill is getting faster and faster.
In R3 I expected Turkington to be a safe bet for the win but he went very much backwards.

it's so weird how he's suddenly lost his mojo again after brands. Seems like he's returned to his 2023 form unfortunately.

I’m a big Turks fan, but I’d admit that for a few seasons now he’s lost that fight that he used to have unfortunately.

30 odd points back with 560 odd points left to play for. Bit more hybrid deployment for the next two tracks that should suit RWD….Yep game over

Amongst some very good drives throughout the three races, Sutton's Race 3 win was a class act, especially considering that the car only just made the grid after all the work required on it after Race 2. An excellent job by the Alliance crew to get it to the race, and well rewarded by Sutton.

Why game over?

Turkington is 33 points off the lead.
At the same stage of 2017, Sutton was 45 points off the lead.

He lost it coming through Goodwood and made heavy impact with the tyre wall at post 14, outside of the circuit, and which is the entry to Church.

For whatever reason, Hill seems to be able to extract more performance out of the car at the moment than Turkington.

Thanks for this! I couldn't really place where the car was when they cut to it on the broadcast, figured it had to be out towards Church somewhere.

Hill has really come alive this year. Great two victories, even if one was inherited. Tingram certainly learned from the corner cutting in subsequent races not to do that again. Sutton finally gets a win, amazing considering how much work the team put in to repair that car for R3

Have to say Chilton, Moffat and Taylor-Smith have really improved this year

That’s kind of been the case for the last 2 1/2 seasons now in reality. Whilst still competitive and more than capable of winning races I struggle to see him winning another championship as long as Hill is in the garage next door.

Also debatable whether he would have won his last championship if Jordan hadn't missed Donington.

But he didn't miss Donington. He qualified poorly and then crashed. Turkington won 5 races, only one fewer than Jordan, who you will note scored 2/3rds of his victories in the two rounds after Donington, when he was qualifying and completing race one with no success ballast.

it just seems Turkington is good for win when he starts at front and car is in HIS (too narrow ?) window

but he usually does quite poorly at going thru the field (usually he stays there or even goes backwards) , this is sharp contrast to Hill , heck even Bobby T totally outclassed Turkington in his one off

Hmm I think that's harsh. Turks did get blatantly taken out in race 2 at Brands, which would've been a certain win. Both had their fair share of bad luck

Not completely outclassed - Turkington appears to be honoring his contract .....

It will be interesting to see how things play out at WSR , I hope this isn't Turkingtons last season. Would be great if they could sort out something with Bobby but I seriously have my doubts if he'll be out again. Hill just needs to keep it clean every weekend and we'll have one hell of a scrap for the title.
