“Lowndesy then ran me into the grass after the restart, which was a bit of fun, and we finished fourth. “So that's a fantastic result for the team but it's also the most frustrating result of the year because second was well and truly in our sights.” I seem to recall a certain date punch at PI in 2006 was questionable, taking the series win away from C. Lowndes (the date punchee) and giving it to the date puncher. Karma's a biatch isn't it? I seem to recall a certain sponsor at the time, with the backing of the date puncher, publishing a picture of a box of tissues in the punchee's livery. Perhaps the puncher should take a leaf from his own book? |

Good on Caruso and GRM, a well deserved result for driver and team, nice to see Gazza enjoying the moment-especially when Caruso was up on the podium, you could see how much it meant to him.
Biante was awesome, they should show more of it. |

[QUOTE=redesp;2487872]Biante's were great.. sad to see the XY hit the fence though.. Gee the camera man must have quietly Sh1t himself.. lol
Maybe the sprint tyre is a good innovation. Better than reverse grids or re-qualifying. QUOTE] Yes they were!! fabulous racing Certainly a big hit though Its a pity that the "main event" seems hell-bent on making the whole exercise so technically confusing and contrived that the fans have almost no idea what is going on in any given race |

A big thumbs up IMO goes to those who Top-10 in both races...Whincup (1/10), Tander (4/5), Lowndes (6/3), and Holdsworth (10/7).
To Top-10 in both races is now an even tougher achievement, given the option tyre makes it easier for those prepared to sacrifice a race to go better in the other. And yes, the safety car type scenario was always on the cards...it's just a matter of who and when. |

mmm just reading the news briefs on the V8 supercar website and good to see Tander hasn't dissapointed us by not whinging..... Hes now complaining about back markers behind the safety car that ruined his race.
He said that Dale Wood should go back to Formula Fords as he's out of his depth in the main game.... I say he has every right to be there and Tander should learn that racing has a thing in it called passing. |

An interesting weekend.
Race 1 Good to see Jason Richards claim his maiden pole. Nice work by Mr Whincup to get the win. Somebody by the officials a watch set to CST time please!!! Race 2 Nice work Mr Caruso and the GRM team. Did I witness Garry Rogers showing some emotion during trophy presentation? The only downside to a GRM win is what the team owner will do at the next round, will he dress as a grid girl? Mr Alex Davison showed a nice bit of form, could be a dark horse for the later rounds! |

Now now, that is just being fair. Mr GTR has long questioned Caruso's ability, claiming he could not drive a big horsepower car with no grip- and that was before he got into the main game. We all know- and as I believe no lesser an authority than Sir Jack said, you only have to win by the smallest possible margin. You develop a strategy that caters for this, and some times pace cars stuff it up, like they did at Winton, and sometimes they do not (Darwin). Well done to Michael and his team.
How is it that GRM can do what HRT and co cannot? Betchya I am not the only bloke in town asking that question. |

Caruso and A.Davison did great in race 2. Really enjoyed that race. Caruso did brillant to hang on for the win.
Lovely to see teams like GRM win. You see how much it really means to them to win. |

I don't believe some people. The facts are there for all to see. Strategy wins races in modern-day motorsport. Not only did 'Robbo' have the win in the bag before the safety car came out, he was able to pull away for the few laps after the safety car from Craig Lowndes...but since Caruso has 'little ability' according to GTRMagic, I suppose holding off a fast-finishing 4-times Bathurst champion would be a walk in the park, aye Mr Magic?

As a point of clarity, this data is available for all to see. The context must be understood for facts to be adequately interpreted. The context in this circumstance was having the 'right' tyres left.. and qualifying well. Will it happen again? Is there a genuine pace that is sustainable and consistent for the rest of the year? A reasonable question I would have thought |

It's interesting, that the penalty applied to #21 Triple F Racing, has only been applied to the 'Teams Championship' - not to the 'Driver's Championship'
